It's difficult to give a one-size fits all answer as it depends on who you're messaging.
I find that most profiles of interest (to me at least) have something of a 'hook' in them that you can reference when you message - maybe they talk about an interest, or there's something of note in their pictures, or they have a nice facial feature or whatever.
Something that gives you the chance to open up with something different to 'how's you?' and prove from the opening line you've read their profile and you're not just regurgitating a copy and paste.

I twat about here and now and then someone takes pity and talks to me. It usually goes pear shaped when it comes away from the safe place that is The Lounge

Your message may never seem perfect to you as the sender but as long as you're communicating specifically to the recipient, so it's unique and personal to them, it will have impact. Then it's down to how well your profile and matches their needs.
Do read their profile, so you've a feel for them and say something that is likely of interest - their profile is important and relevant.
Write to many people so that it doesn't weigh heavy on you. Be light about it and move until they reply. |
