Mate of mine has made a batch, he's passed me a bottle and is awaiting my verdict, last time I drank home brew I got my very first hangover, I was 14

I know it's only one bottle but the experience has put me off the stuff, anyone else had bad experience with alcohol at an early age?

Not at young age, but Fred had a bad experience with Slovakian home brew, ended up in hospital with a suspected brain haemorrhage. Have no idea quite what it was he was drinking some kind of spirit.

I'm convinced most people have a drink that, due to a bad experience in their youth, they just can't drink it again....mine is Pernod and black

Yeah - Teenage homebrew shenanigans was a right of passage... I had to get 2 new bike wheels after one episode...

These days it's something I like to do and the results are far far more like proper beer

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I make my own wine. It can be a lot stronger than bought wine as it doesn't have to abide by licensing laws.

Some home brew is delish, especially elderberry, plum, and blackberry. Just be careful.

visiting the beach

Greengage wine and Tom Thumb cigars (no idea why we chose those), prior to a school play.

I remember the deputy headmaster saying, as I was throwing up in the toilet, "you won't do that again will you?"...

To be fair he was right, never did exactly that again!

P.O. Box DE1 0NQ

I was brought upon home brew as ma dad used to make bitter and loads of different wines. None of this kit stuff though, he used to boil his own hops and add malt etc...wine was the same, we used to go out and spend an evening collecting elderberries/elderflowers, rose hips and the like.

I used to have 3 pressure barrels (40 pints each), and do a cider, bitter and a lager when I lived in a bigger place and will do so again when I move from this shoe box

Snakebite and blackcurrant. Vommed purple everywhere. Think I was about 15.

Diamond White was my drink of choice between 17 and 21, but the last episode I had with that stuff had meant I'll never touch cider again.

Once mixed with a special fried rice.

Dried on purple rice is a bugger to clean.

i remember drinking homebrew as a teenager.. we used to wait about two weeks max.. the stuff was still fermenting.. but it still tasted better than that carling shite.. i still make homebrew now and again but I've learned to wait now.. so now it's a reasonable drop of stuff..
