black pudding

Mmmmm haven't had a decent creamy black pudding in years. Agree about trying things but why does everybody always say when asked "it tastes like chicken used to!" |

Most unusual food items taste like bland chicken, white meat without spices mostly tastes like and has the same texture as chicken. I had the kids try frogs legs in Paris and they confirmed 'Dad it tastes like chicken' lol. |

"Frogs legs, snails, elvers, kangaroo and ostrich. "
I like elvers. Or I did when I was a kid and they were easier to get. Fishy spaghetti. Not a fan of the texture of snail but I've eaten those a few times. I loved baby octopus though; it's like squid but less chewy and I love squid anyway.
I always feel sorry for people who have never had the chance to eat a proper dripper. Or a lardy cake if they're in pig rather than dairy country. |

I spent about 3 months in China over a 2 year period, in that time I became a veggie (only when there), as I have eaten tortoise, dog, snake, fish eyes, insects, ox spine, and lots of other weird shit, hence I was the veggie abroad.. |

Horse is really nice! High in protein, low in fat and cholesterol and tastes fucking great as well. Don't know what the fuss was about myself. Horse is eaten all over the place.

Are you sure it was crocodile and not alligator? I've had both and alligator even looks likes like chicken breast and your brain thinks it's going to just taste like chicken but then it tastes like fish. Crocodile tastes just like pork. |

Ooh, don't know, they said it was crocodile but maybe it got lost in translation. In any case, it wasn't very nice! And to the earlier poster, yes it certainly did have some bite.... |

When I was in Hong Kong there were so many weird and wonderful foods. Most of it was fresh seafood but I can't choose something to eat which is alive and then killed in front of me. And I'm not quite sure what some of the meat hanging up was. I'm OK if the meat is disguised in sauces etc, otherwise I'm not that adventurous. |
