Keith moon was a complete one off drummer a complete maverick who led the way of how to be a rock drummer and total entertainer, sadly died in 1978 but left a legacy of how it should be done in one of the worlds best bands...the who.
Zac starky ringo,s son now plays in keiths shoes when the who do put on a concert.
But who could you think of would or has been the complete musician and entertainer. |

Best drumming I've heard off Zak is out of "Lyla" Oasis. |

I love the Motörhead ballad '1916', lemmy's voice is beautiful on it, sounds really vulnerable. |

ginger baker makes keith moon, keith richards, ozzy osbourne, river phoenix and every one else look like utter lightweights ... and he's probably the drummer/musician with the best natural sense of time that has ever existed .... as for complete musicians and entertainers .... there's far too many to list |

"David Bowie and Freddie "
great examples of "complete" musicians, wether you liked their taste or not .... another is duke ellington, hugely popular in his day and could play every instrument in his orchestra |

I am not sure about entertainment but my favourite drummer is Steve Gadd. Entertaining drummers has to be Phil Collins and his Concorde flight for Live Aid. Although I have soft spot for his Genesis drumming I did not rate him as a drummer until I heard last year a Cd of him playing in the band Brand X. Complete entertainer has to be Prince. Sung, danced, made films and played every instrument and most modern musical styles. As much as I have time for the Who I preferred their Mod music (Quadrophenia and Tommy excepted to my dislike of their rock). I would have preferred to see Zep live than The Who and John Bonham's drumming is underrated.

"Keith Emerson, multi talented keyboard genius,"
If we're talking keyboard players he's on the first page, all the rest are on the second.
Amazing talent and performer and his passing last year was almost ignored.
But then, the press never got him, shame really. |

For a performance. There's the king of pop.
Prince is a good shout for a musician.
Drummer that stands up there with Kieth moon - I like Dave Grohl. He looks pretty damn comfortable up there. |
