Discovering new things through recommendations can be lovely -- we all have books, poems, songs, films, to programmes, hobbies, food etc that we love -- so make a recommendation to the poster above something you think they may like to discover, something that you like/enjoy.

I'm hoping to get some new ideas.

I though this was more of a "name something you like and have other people recommend similar to you" thread, which is an amazing idea.

I'm going to recommend Tucker and Dale vs Evil! It's perfect satire and if you enjoy horror you'll recognise several of the elements that are mocked.

I want to see both of these

Love Ben Wheatley but 'Free fire' looks totally different to his other stuff. Interested to see what he does with a more mainstream type of film.

Book - Archangel by Robert Harris

Film - A Monster Calls.

Book is and oldie but a goodie. Fantastically written with twists and turns all the way through.

The film is a new un that I watched with my 12 year old. We both had a weep.

Recommending difficult without knowing what you're into.

TV - well anything off Netflix or Amazon Prime. Black Sails, Vikings, Hand of God, Sneaky Pete, Man in the High Castle, Bloodline, any of the Marvel Netflix shows, all if Star Trek on Netflix. If you have Sky then Game of Thrones or Westworld

Films - Lord if the Rings, any of the Marvel films, the Die Hard's, too many to list

Books - too many to list

There and to the left a bit

TV - Currently has to be Line Of Duty - best crime drama ever!!

Film - Hacksaw Ridge - best film I've seen in a very long time

Book - Anything by Peter James fantastic writer of crime fiction and more

Song - The Liberty Of Norton Folgate by Madness - 9 mins 42 secs that show the band are so much more than just a good time party band from the 80s, a positive trip through a part of the East End of London unknown to many

Is the book good. I'd imagine that it's quite a difficult book to read as it would be so emotional x

Book: I only read auto/biographies, so that's subjective on if you like the person in question I guess, but Kurt Cobain's Heavier than Heaven.

TV show: Black Mirror, Parks and Rec, Murder One (amazing)

Film:

Comedy - Dinner for Schmucks, Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Horror - Don't Breathe (More of a thriller) The Collector & The Collection

Stand up - Bo Burnham
