Because there is an option for them to do it.
Taking a break
On holiday
Dont want people looking at there profile
Numerous reasons i guess.
I hide mine when i cant be bothered for a bit or if im on late at night to stop all the chances messaging me |

We are taking a short break from meeting due to our business and holidays, so we have hidden it. We don't tend to get email and therefore we don't have to turn people down and perhaps ruin our chances at a later date. xx |

Why would someone hiding their profile make you not trust them?? Seems an odd conclusion to jump to - that they are untrustworthy 
Maybe they don't plan on meeting for a while and want to avoid that most dreaded of title 'timewaster'  |

I know that normal life can get in the way of swinging, because mine does as im my mom's main carer, so i do understand that side of it, but like mentioned already, why turn them off and still look at others? It would make me wary of them 2!  |

Theres are some normal resons why some hide as having a rest or holiday or ill ...... but theres some who hide so thay dont get a ear full from others thay play with . lol some lovely people here and some real players on this site. |

I hide mine when i'm taking a break or too busy in real life, hardly makes me untrustworthy but more thoughtfull i think, as people dont waste thier time asking for meets etc... |

I've hidden mine (oops - ours!) when I've wanted a break from messages just because life was too busy to meet. I also hid it when my dad died and I was too knackered on all levels to meet - I still perved, though - I possibly even posted in the forums.
I'd personally say that the majority of hidden profiles aren't down to 'suspect' reasons but more a case of 'real life' overtaking play time |

mines hidden as my ex found my profile took copies of it sent it to all my family and friends and then tried to cause a lot of trouble for me so i stay hidden and i just chat to people im friends with already x |

iv just hidden my profile as i wanta break, i added a few couples and single blokes to my friends list and they think i am gonna meet them asap! then get offended when i say im takin my time. so hiding my profile reduces the endless winks and friends request. gives me time to relax and enjoy being on FAB for ME |

I'm no longer meeting as I have a partner. I do find the forums addictive although I'm not on as much, I like to post/read.
My profile is hidden for that reason. If people think that's suspicious that's up to them, I use the site how I wish.
I really struggle to understand this fascination with how others choose to use the site: some people really need to get a life! |

So because they don't want to look like they're leading people on and wasting people's time, or want to reduce messages when they're not looking to meet, you think they're hiding something. When actually, if they were, all they'd need to do is not put it on the profile in the first place.

well most the time he is one mailing others as hide his profile and he comes across a really nice man .. but likes all the woman to feel thay are the only ones and this young woman has been sucked in .. I know whats he is up too as i asked him out strat .. Why was he hiding .. and i was one the telling him and he said yes lol. Woman do send him feedback and hiding himself from others you dont see feedback and stuff and he dont have to show it at all . He has the gift of the gab..a ladys man. This it the way he works.  Some men are real game players here ...... up to them but some can get hurt from it all if thay dont look out. |

we hide when we know we won't be playing for a while. stops lots of messages being sent that we have to go through before we want to arrange anything. i think its a great option. xx |
