.. now THERE was a Sega 80s Arcade classic if there ever was one, particularly the version you sat in that moved with the action. And it had the best theme tune ever!
What were your fave arcade games as a kiddie? ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

"Out Run
Street Fighter II
And my personal favourite...... Track and Field!!!"
Ah yes, Track and field, where you got RSI frantically waggling that joystick from side to side! Halcyon days! ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

I preferred the button bashing version. Those fast twitch forearm muscles come in handy these days. ![](/icons/s/twisted.gif) |

"Pack Man
Space Invaders
Phoenix (I think)
I grew up by the seaside so spent a fair bit of time in the arcades! "
Ah Phoenix was awesome - and my first introduction to classical music as it played Für Elise after you destroyed the Mothership!
When the visiting funfair visited my village I spent hours, and most of my pocket money, on that game! |

There and to the left a bit |
As a kiddie Think I was well into my teens when Pong and Binatone consoles first appeared!!
Did used to like Asteroids, and Donkey Kong and Defender was always a bit manic but good fun!!
There was another horizontal scroller where you had to guide your spaceship through various ever narrowing landscapes whilst shooting things but can't remembwr what it was called but became a dab hand at it.
And another one we had at our Sea Cadet hut think it might have been Lunar Rescue where you had to pick the right moment to guide your spaceship down to rescue a spaceman.
Oh and Arcadian (mad caterpillar shooter) and Galaxians were firm favourites too. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Another vote for Phoenix. The tabletop version in my grandparents social club took a lot of my parents money but that, a and a packet of crisps kept me quiet all night
Missile Command and the star wars game were my other favourites in the Brighton arcades. |
