Was listening to Chris Moyles' Golden Hour and he played Cars and Girls by Prefab Sprout, a song I know well.
I downloaded their greatest hits and discovered Goodbye Lucille #1 (renamed Johnny Johnny).
What a song, truly wonderful.
Any similar song discoveries by Fabbers by complete accident??? |

Spotify regularly throws up little gems when it plays random music based on what I have on my playlists. I just gave Ride a listen. Hadn't heard of them before. |

Following on from Rich Hall's programme on country and western music I was looking up on YouTube the C&W singers name checked. In the middle was a jazz section with a couple of albums by a female guitarist called Emily Remler. Her glory days were the 1980s. She died at 32. She plays great straight ahead jazz guitar and was rated by Herb Ellis. She said in an interview 'I may look like a nice Jewish girl from New Jersey, but inside I'm a 50 year old, heavy set black man with a big thumb like Wes Montgomery" By coincidence a few days later I bought in a charity shop a DVD of guitar playing. In the jazz section the tutor refers to Emily Remler. Two days earlier I would not have known her.
This is Firefly her first album
