home

Hi everyone iv recently changed to quite a physical job from 1 I sat on my arse for 10 hours , I enjoy the work but years of breaking bones racing motocross bikes are taking there toll , I lost my grandfather 3 years ago and my motivation in life fell apart at the time I attended the gym 5 days a week aye clean and generally felt great . My wife in turn was attending gym and looking good we also had regular meets on fab without problems . My problem now is knowing I need to loose approximately 4 stone as my knees , hip and pretty much all my joints click / ache . Just looking to see what other people have done to get out of a rut ! I suppose I'm still mourning and hate to say it a bit depressed. Just need to find some motivation and get life back on track

1 day at a time.

set yourself goals. it doesn't matter how big or small the sense of achievement will grow with each goal as will your zest for life.

when I lost my dad I barely left the house in 2 years, my kids suffered as well as my longing for life.

give yourself a pat on the back for still being here, look around at what you have rather than what you don't have and be grateful for the littler things in life.

getting fitter in your job will certainly help with some of weight issues but will also help confidence.

I wrote a poem not long ago about life ... I'd like to paste it here if you don't mind reading it.

Time is the best healer I've been through a lot the last couple of years and losing weight can take you on to loose more and more until you're unhealthy just do a little at a time and have a goal and no lower

Brighton - even Hove!

Going to the gym will take your mind off any stresses caused by bereavement. Life is valuable so look after your body and mind.

calorie deficit is the answer.. whether you go down the route of eating less high calorie foods or burning off calories in the gym..

think eating smarter food choices is easier out of the 2 especially if you arent in the best shape with aches etc

Up North

Slimming world has been a great motivator for me. Lots of men attend at well. The meetings are quite fun and spur me on to loose more.

Maybe a weight loss club?

Take little steps and build up your fitness gradually.

I think you'd benefit now the days are brighter & longer in getting outside and do some walking. I'm doing 20 mins everyday and already feel better in a very short period of time...

No embarrassment in.being depressed. It happens to most people at some point. As everyone says one day at a time. Get up, get showered and get out is your starting point.when feeling more social maybe look up a new sport of challenge to hopefully pique your interest. Talk to your g.p
