£24,500 parking ticket

BBC news:
A woman has been ordered by a sheriff to pay a private parking company £24,500 in unpaid charges.
The woman ignored hundreds of penalty notices for parking at Dundee's Waterfront without a permit, claiming they were unenforceable.

If it was one or two I might have some empathy. Parking charges can be a pain in the arse and many private companies are ridiculously over-zealous in their enforcement.
But if she deliberately set out to consistently and flagrantly park in private property with no intention to ever pay y'know I think 'unlucky love, but you kinda had it coming'. |

As it's highly unlikely she'll ever be able to afford it, they probably still won't see the money. We've had private parking companies on my estate and I've just told them to piss off in the past over tickets and never heard anything more from them. Nearly 500 quid a year for a permit for that area seems a little steep too, to be honest. |
