Tonight I saw a lady walking home from the gym, she was wearing a bright pink top and leggings, and she looked pretty fit. It occurred to me that if she was wearing a dull colour, I may not have even looked at her, and I'm sure she wouldn't have looked as appealing, despite her body being no different. I realise this sounds a bit silly and makes me sound shallow and basic, but it got me thinking!
Ladies, do you think about the colours you wear in terms of the effect they may have on the opposite sex (or whoever you might wish to attract)? Or is this not in your thought process when you go shopping or get dressed?
Gents, do you feel the same? Do some colours attract your attention and/or make the ladies look more appealing to you?
Genuinely interested to hear if this is a thing or I'm just an oddball |

It might cross my mind that certain colours of underwear have particular effects on others, but even then, I wouldn't wear something if it wasn't in my comfort zone.
Outerwear, I wear what I want (and this nearly always ends up being dark colours) and don't think about the effect the colour or style might have on anyone else. |

I take quite a few factors in to account when I get dressed. I'm not ashamed to admit that I like admiring glances from men but I don't specifically dress to attract them. I wear quite a lot of colour because I enjoy it, Mr N likes it and I like to look a bit different. This has the added effect of attracting mens (and often womens) eyes but as I say it isn't my main intention. |

i mostly wear dull colours like grey, blue, white, black. i don't like to stand out when out really and still get noticed.
my tattoos and hair are my coloured bits of my outfits. my hair is the only stuff usually on show though coz if my tattoos are out loads of people will just talk to me about them and it's annoying. |

But if you are comfortable in what your wearing carry on
It took me a longtime to develop my own fashion sense. My mother was still buying my clothes into my teens |

Thanks for the answers. I had a feeling most people would say they dress for themselves, and not others, I hope it didn't come across that I was suggesting women should dress to please men. |

I do wear bright colours, today I have orange trousers on, but I have always been that way. I might buy a certain item of clothing in a style mr likes but the colour choices are mine. |

Not to me it didn't.
I think a lot of men assume that women dress to please them. I think a lot of women enjoy looking attractive. The two aren't necessarily the same though. |

It totally depends on my mood. At the risk of sounding vain, I have to admit that I occasionally like being noticed (doesn't happen very often since reaching mid 30's) but I'll dress in clothes that I think make me look good, not what I think others would like. The majority of the time I don't want attention so will wear comfy stuff in more subdued colours. |
