Sold the house 5 years ago and brought our boat.best thing we have ever done, semi retired oct 15.
I now only work oct to end of march then just cruise the canals through the summer, lynn don't need to work at all now. Recommend it to anyone relaxing stress free and a lot of fun. |

I'd love that!
When i went to London on the Coach we used to pass the houseboats, (different to narrowboats i know) that were moored up, that's my dream, they looked lovely!!
I went on a norfolk broads narrowboat holiday when younger. Was bigger than i thought.

I used to life on a barge on the Irish canals near Dublin it was bigger than the uk barrow boats but still limited space. Was a great life and I really enjoyed it. Waking up looking out at the wildlife the freedom of being able to move whenever you wanted. Was great with two kids but for a little tight when the others came alone so had to move to terra firma. Still have the barge mind you and use it during the summer holidays or when I can |

Used to work on a boat yard, Always liked camping and caravaning too, fancied having one but they're too expensive to just have as leisure vessels I think for me, once you get into slipway/mooring/general maintenance costs. So maybe in my later life I will look into it. |
