Literally, bloody tired. This is my Thursday rant. I don't need anything, no advice, no sympathy I just need to rant.

What is it with the fucking hot flushes? I've not had a full nights sleep for fucking MONTHS. It's like being microwaved from the inside and dear god the sweat. I'm sick of changing bedding and fucking hell I stink. Freezing, boiling, freezing, boiling, the weird, fizzy burning feeling in my feet and the random feelings of vile panic I have to fight.

Ovaries, I'm 56 FFS. FIFTY FUCKING SIX JUST GIVE UP ALREADY.

Thanks for listening, this has been an announcment from the department of #youthinkyouknowwhat'scoming? BAZINGA!!!

I feel you. My wife is 50 and has been a furnace intermittently for a couple of years and dont talk to her about the random periods that are so bad she has pills to slow them down and iron tablets to keep her levels away from making her ill. Takes those though and she bleeds even worse.

I feel her pain. It's fucking shitty, normal but shitty. I know it's going to stop and I'll be an old lady with a 28 year old brain but it's no fucking consolation when my furnace is the temperature of the sun and I'm so dehydrated that my kidneys hurt!

Ever tried a really competant Chinese medical herbalist?? TCM is worth looking into, they can marshall some really potent phytochemistry.

I'd like to give you a reassuring hug, however I'm afraid you may melt me.

I'm in the pre stage, have it all to come. I hope it passes as quickly as it can for you. I wish I could offer advice but I'd be making it up, and I don't wanna be doing that.

Wishing you warmth and cooling whichever one you need right now x

They would be last on my extensive list of attempting to ease my symptoms without HRT and there's no way I'm taking that shit.

I've been trying to find info on low-carb diet in relation to peri-menopause without success.

Tonight's new symptom is anger. I've not been unprovoked angry since my twenties and I could fucking scream right now.

Thanks Peach. I'm pretty sure I don't have it as bad as some I've spoken to, it's just the constant interrupted sleep that's the killer.

How women work full time and go through this is beyond me.

I guessed as much lol - but you should do a little research, they do have 4,000 years of trial and error to work with and they diagnose according to individual clinical presentation by such a totally different paradigm. I studied it a fair bit to use some for the horses.

There were a couple of lectures on the subject in the members section of the Diet Doc site, but no new information that I saw - just the usual 'reduction in insulin sensitivity post-menopause' etc.

I've just read my last comment again and realised it could have been seen as negative, sorry. What I meant was I've tried so many comp therapies, I think Chinese medicine must be the last one to consider.

I got a volunteer place on the Public Health Collaboration conference this year, I'm hoping to pick some brains.

Ah OK, that's a lot less skeptical! Find a RCHM registered practitioner near you - if they are any good, they will be able to read you like a book, it's quite fascinating.

As well as friskys idea, have a think about acupuncture. My sister went from wanting to murder everyone, probably with her own sweat from the flushes, to back to normal in one session. It wore off after a few days but after five sessions, a week or so apart, she didn't need to go back any more. I'm not sure how the bleeding changed for her, but the flushes stopped and she was much happier and slept far better.

Go to your Dr or go back if you've been.

There were two lady Dr's on The Wright Stuff the other week discussing this and they said there are other options for women these days rather than just using HRT.

There are also some natural remedies that can help too, but they didn't detail them.

I can sympathise totally, thankfully my hot flushes aren't too bad at the moment . Soon sorted by sticking my feet out the bed and no problem with bleeding. But I'm only just starting it. Fingers crossed that I can get through without too much of the downside x

I briefly mentioned about being peri a while ago to a young male doctor,I'd actually gone in about something else. He said they're taught in Medical school now to tell women to just 'go with it' . If I need to discuss it properly I'll make sure I see a woman at least.

My mate takes sertraline has really helped her with flushes.

I just bought a lovely all cotton 2 tog quilt from Soak and sleep. £26 for a king size and I have been much cooler over night. Not sleeping any better but im used to that. I feel for you it is really miserable. Hope you manage to find some help with this.
