Car Service History Recovery Help

Hi all, I hope someone here could possibly help me as I'm completely stuck and don't know what to do. Basically I'm trying to recover my service history for my new car and have found the previous keepers (Camden Corperate) to of rebranded and a year later went in to administration. I have the V5 and it's blank booklet but I want my service history. Does anyone have any inside knowledge or tips to help please? Thanx in advance.  |

*bump* sorry for double posting but I really need some advice. There must be either a car dealer/mechanic or a technical person on this site with the knowledge I require  |

I haven't had it serviced I'm the second owner but the first is a big company that has gone bust. Was hoping there would be an electronic trail attached to the car (i.e logs kept online) but I can't find one |

if you know the dealer who originally sold the vehicle new ..try gettin in touch with them chances are they were the people who serviced it from new especially if it was originally bought by a company hope that helps |

if it was serviced by a main dealer it should be on there system . everything that has been done to the car . try ringing 1 of them or pop in n ask if your car is on there system there usualy pretty good if it is and will usualy print off any relevant paperwork they have regarding your car . if it was done by an independand . ya shagged  |

If you can find who serviced it they will reprint invoices for a price. You may find they won't do this but may get you a replacement service book and stamp if for you with the dates of the service. Which ever it will cost. |

What make is the car? Premium brands are the easiest to source and with any make, you should be able to go to your local dealer and get a copy! It should all be on a dtatbase and should be accessable anywhere in the UK..
Camden would not necessesarily have given you the service book and if they did, it may not have been stamped. As with all Lease companies, they usually just supply a computer printout from the garage, that is crap at best! The premium brands will be able to supply a service history just by plugging your ignition key/fob into a reader and job done!
None of this is cheap! Can cost upwards of £70 from bread and butter car makers and from £45 for premium brands, depending on the model! Some of the cheaper brands charge the most!

Thanx people but its just going to cost a lot more time and money then I would like to put in. Just unhappy that the place I bought the car from weren't straight with me about the history. Lesson learnt....I'm getting an official car next time (meaning main dealer I.e Jennings). |

If they misled you return the car or take them to small claims court. |
