Most stuff is cheaply made n breaks pretty easy. But before you go google ikea hacks.
Some really clever ideas on there.
Think of ikea products like lego. Pretty much everything will connect to to something.
My friend created a bed out of kitchen storages and a kallax and it looks like it's worth £1000's but cost him about £250 |

Do you know what you want?
Whatever you do, walk through the kitchenware section and market place with your eyes focused forward or your yellow bag will be full of stuff you'd never heard of, didn't know you needed and now find irresistible and essential.
Can you get me some screw bulbs and batteries, please?

Don't go there dude! You will come home with candles and lighting accessories that will be shunned upon in less than a year! Have a day in home bargains instead. At least when your throwing it out next week you won't feel so guilty about throwing crap out! |

It is what it is, always found that the kitchen and rug sections are brilliant though, every device possible for your kitchen and the rugs CAN be reasonable but be careful once saw a rug for £100 next to one for over £1000. But without doubt the best bit is the hot dogs at the end, once had 6! (Not 6 factorial, maths joke there!) |

Ikea is the worst place for shopping acting like a child with the stuffed toYstrad, divorcing half way around the bed section...stuffing yourself mouth full of Swedish balls and lingonberry jam and chips then buying a load of flat pack stuff that you then realise you can't fit into your small inadequate car... ![](/icons/s/2/cute.gif) |

I could spend the entire day in ikea just looking at storage solutions. Also love their little alarm clocks, picture frames and kitchen gadgetry. Only problem is ours is next door to Costco so it's impossible not to spend a fortune between the two ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |

I like to get the paper plates with designs on them for picnics, especially the square ones as they pack easier.

The cheaper range of stuff does tend to be crappy this is true. But like I said before. Google IKEA hacks.

I don't entertain ikea furniture. But then again my business is furniture restoration and upcycling. So I hate anything chipboard veneer or MDF
No solid built furniture with dovetails etc. To be found within ikea. |

I wouldn't entertain eating a 50p hot dog.
The furniture is okay, we've got quite a few pieces and can't really fault any of it. We've stayed in places that have ikea kitchens and these always seem good, definitely superior to B&Q |

It's like the seventh circle of hell. Know what you want before you go.
On the plus side, the furniture is really easy to assmble and once you've made one, you've made 'em all - you hardly need the instructions. |

Your local one is weird though - it's a spiral. You can't do the shortcuts as easily.

Really?
I generally find that they put you a few extra screws and dowels and stuff in there - although they give you the right number of connecting bits. |

"I usually go to the ikea in croydon and get swedish meatballs, it is tasty mmmmm "
I left my exwife there by the side of the road one Sunday afternoon.
At the time it was all new & our nearest one, we didn't need anything walked round for yonks picking up little bits & pieces gets to the checkouts mahoosive ques so she puts the basket down says fuck that and walks out & its all my fault.
We have a barney in the car she wants out, so I let her out & go home to Billericay..
Fuck knows why but when she finally got in five hours later everything was still all my fault
No pleasing some people

My first car was a Rover 200 and we managed to get a shelving unit in the back of it that, when fully assembled, took up an entire wall of my mate's lounge. I was very impressed by this. |

"Just follow the arrows all the way round. Lots of stuff you want but don't need.
Best not weekends and holidays "
My method is to find what I want online, then bypass the shop and go straight to the warehouse bit you actually get the stuff from. And do it half an hour before closing mid-week. I'm not one for shopping ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I hate idea with a passion. The furniture and meatballs are great, but the one near me is like a conveyor belt. You go in have to tour the whole shop, which takes ages and the the car park is the same. It's a conveyor belt with no short cuts. You can never just go in and pick something up right quick. |
