Anxiety is said to wake you between 2-3am. I sleep terribly anyway, and always wake early.
I have no techniques, but before you go to bed, maybe write down a todo list for tomorrow. Then as you wake up pick it up and read through what you need todo that day.
As your in bed you should realise, you can't get anything done as you sleep.
This is only an idea what I might do to.
Hope you can find something that works, from one tired bunny to the next.

Get up and do something, dont just lie there trying to sleep, even if its load the washing machine or do some ironing just do something for thirty mins then go back to bed your brain should have settled then |

Thanks both. I do always get up as experience has told me that there's no point laying there trying to go back to sleep.
I'll try writing things down before I go to bed. If it works I won't need the second idea |

Where the streets have no name |
Try diaphragmatic breath and concentrate on it, without other thoughts invading. When you think again in those disturbing thoughts, go back to your breath. Your heart rate will decrease, your body relax and eventually, you will fall asleep
