I'm off today to pick up my annual pass and probably to be heartbroken to what they've done to my beloved bubbleworks) they've turned it into a gruffalo ride

Nooooo. That was the only ride I could bear when we used to take kids, apart from the overhead railway.

Went to chessington last weekend there was 90 minute wait for grufalo ride!!

I think it still the same ride but with the gruffalo but they should have just thrown some money at it and done it up

Well the basic river is still there. Just gruffalo stuff everywhere. Still has the fountains in the air. Still prefer the original bubbleworks before imperial leather ruined it. Oh and the audio is shite.

Really? So essentially a rebranded Bubbleworks then? I assumed after all the fanfare of closing it they were creating a totally different experience altogether?

Talking of Chessington audio, you can't beat the theme in the Vampire ride can you? The old guy on the piano? Been there for YEARS that dude, since I was a young 'un!

It's the exact same ride. In fairness they've spent some money on the models and stuff. But there's too much noise to be able to hear the story. Marcel is the name of the organ player in the Vampire ride, they've managed to get his mechanism working so he looks like he's playing it.
