I've spent almost 11 hours filling in job application forms.

One job working in Reception at one of our local universities, had a 14 page application form!

I completed one last week for a local school which went to 12 pages!

How come the public sector can get by on 3 - 4 page application forms?

My eyes are all screwed up, my fingers are getting sore, and my brain hurts!

Cheer me up someone!

So far, in Ethnicity Questionnaire, that hasn't cropped up.

But when it does, I'll ask if it applies to Scots?

Unfortunately, it was an online application form, and copying/pasting wasn't permissable.

Otherwise, I would have done so.

Gen how about self employment......writing profiles for newbies who can't get meets. There's a fortune to be made (no cut and paste allowed) plus charge extra for personal advice on what they're doing wrong etc.

It'd stop the buggers whinging at least for a while.

It's your fault for being English and living in England

Seriously. There are more 'by the book' types in the UK than in any other country that I've lived in. Being pedantic and methodical apparently counts for more (socially) than even getting better results.

This country has lots of people who are very professional, but take literally zero risks in business or in general. They see them as opposites for some reason. They're wrong, but I'm not going to waste my time convincing anybody of it.

However, I would note that England spends more on insurance per capita, than any other nation in the world, but as a country has one of the lowest rates of natural disasters, geopolitical problems, decent health etc
