Same. I wanted to dislike it but no. My tear ducts had other ideas.

An ex-forumite bought me the book of that for my birthday. I'm scared to go in, it looks a terrible heartstring jurker.

I thought it would just be an easy to watch kids movie. No. No it isn't. Stupid film. I swear I leaked every bit of water my body held through my eyes. Bad form for an ice queen to melt.

My anger was a mask for my tears. I'm not as mature as you two. Emotionally-like.

(Thanks for thinking that it was for a more intellectual reason such as disability or classist-portrayal -- )

It looks deeply traumatic and heart-renderingly uplifting. *gives wide berth* This kinda thing could finish me off right now.

I read the book. I love Patrick Ness and how he came to write the book had me tearing up before I even started reading it. My usual cynicism was no match. I shall watch the movie but I will need to be in the right place for it.

It's the opposite of uplifting. You nailed it at traumatic. Heed the warning. Leave it alone.

Watch The Goonies instead.

Oh hell, I'm going in this weekend then. If I am inactive on fab next week, just know it was too much. It was nice knowing you all.

When will I learn? Pfft. I need to stop watching films and thinking they'll be cathartic and instead I feel worse. I watched Pan's Labyrinth a couple of days ago and felt so bad after.

I'm a wuss. I like sunshine and lollipops. A sad or intense book or film stays with me for days. I much prefer saccharine and sugar sweet.
