"Religion of Peace" my arse." Not JW or Baptists specifically, but various Christians: - Anti-balaka groups in Africa - National Liberation Front of Tripura - Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland - Karantina and Tel al-Zaatar massacres - Sabra and Shatila massacre - The Lord's Resistance Army - Army of God - Christ's Lambs - Centennial Olympic Park bombing - The Covenant - The Sword - Arm of the Lord (CSA) - Defensive Action - Montana Freemen - The Hutaree Christian militia movement - Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooting I mean, I'm Christian (as I said above). But we've got our own fair share of awful extremists who are prepared to murder and indeed massacre in God's name. Cos that's the same as driving a truck through a bunch of people and children or beheading soldiers in the street Massacres are massacres. Doesn't matter if they're done by a truck or a gun or a bomb." What about the peoples front of Judea... fucking spliters. Much prefer the Judean people's front.

"Religion of Peace" my arse." A Christian group, known as the Lord's Resistance Army, killed 345 civilians and took 250 more against their will, over a 4 day period. Unfortunately, as this happened in Makombo, Congo, it is not declared relevant news. NLFT, national liberation front of Tripura, vowed to kill anyone who took part in Durga Puja, an annual Hindu festival. They killed 30 Hindus in a killing spree following this announcement. Again, not relevant for the media here in the U.K. These are just some examples of Christian terrorist groups.

"The teachings of islam,in essence, says that there is no other god or religion but islam, anyone who has a different belief is not tolerated Whether people like it or not, the United Kingdom is a christian country and our laws and government are based upon that premise Christianity provides for tolerance for all, islam tolerates no one else Have you ever read the Bible? It's horrific. And I don't recall Henry VIII being that tolerant of other religions. Or his daughters. I am very thankful that, as a woman, I was born in modern day Britain, where I am not considered a chattel, or a whore if I sin. But just because C of E has degenerated to a religion of church fayres and afternoon tea doesn't make it any more tolerant than other religions. They're just quieter about it. Go on then, try and carry a bacon sandwich into a mosque, in fact, try and walk into a mosque in your every day clothing, see what happens! Ive done the latter the outcome was "excuse me but could you take your shoes off if you want to use the prayer room" Your a man,and you know a woman wouldn't have been asked, excuse me Where exactly do you think Islamic women worship then? At mosques. Are they next to their husband and son's? No, but then neither did Christians until relatively recently. Islam is 800 years younger then Christianity and Judaism is even older, so they have a bit of catching up to do. I am sure however your objections have nothing to do with the treatment of women. You just get your knee jerk reactions from what you read in the media, without actually investigating further. Personally I think we should all go back to 11th century Cordoba, when all three Abrahamic faiths worked together to enable some of the largest philosophical and scientific strides forward ever. But Christianity buggered that up. Of course there not, but you try and bluster over that, again!, with a torrent of justification so you can have the last word, doesn't make you right though " The problem is, ever since you felt you had to tell the forums I deleted a message from you, I haven't been able to take you seriously at all. And the fact your opinions are so much recycled tabloid makes that easier. Instead of reading and believing the papers, why not research a bit? Religions are fascinating, and you might learn that their followers aren't the caricatures you've been led to believe.

"Islamophobia is defined as an irrational fear of Islam, which I think is the wrong descriptor. There's nothing irrational about fearing Islam. Muslims believe in an invisible being. They believe that their invisible being is more important than any human being. They prostrate themselves on the ground at least twice a day to show their subservience to an invisible being. They starve themselves form dusk til dawn for a month because that's what they believe this invisible being wants them to do. These are not the acts of rational human beings. It may be argued that other religions share some of these ridiculous traits, and when I read of some Jehovah's Witnesses or Baptists mowing down innocent civilians in the name of their own particular invisible being, I'll concede that all religion is as evil as Islam in the 21st century. "Religion of Peace" my arse." You see that's where you are mistaken.....you lump all Muslims as one, the reality is the majority of British born Muslims in their late teens and twenties don't attend mosque, nor do they pray. No more than the majority of British born Christians in the same age group attend church or pray to Jesus before they go to bed at night. It's your fear of Islam that dictates your thinking, fear clouds your vision.

Is it sexist to say that a woman is killed every four days at the hands of her male partner? That's not sexist - it's truth. If our police are so good, why aren't they stopping men killing women? Why are they so hung up on minority incidents just because they involve some brown people? We're so you get your stats from? I can tell you this they are wrong from the stats I have seen, male or female death at the hands of a partner is not acceptable in any way shape or form, for you to single out women is poor and not jusifyable in anyway " Although domestic violence is a problem for men too, more women die at the hands of men via domestic violence than men at the hands of women, if purely down to the difference in strength. We're singling out women because its still going on, in the 21st century, 100 years after female emancipation. And its wrong. Do try not to take this personally. Her figures are correct.

I have been in to mosques in my everyday clothing (shoes off to enter a prayer room). My hair is always uncovered and, as can been seen from my pictures, I usually have a cleavage on show. I have always been treated with respect and deference for my knowledge. I wouldn't take a bacon sandwich into church with (it's a bread and wine type of place) so I can't see why I would even think of taking a bacon sarnie into a mosque. It's a really odd thing to suggest. Were you allowed to pray alongside male Muslims?" I am not a Muslim. Charedi Jews don't allow men and women to pray together in the same prayer hall. There are still some Christian churches where the congregation splits. It doesn't make sense to me but it does to them. I hope in time that it will change. However, I have prayed at interfaith/ecumenical events with Muslims and Jews and Christians.

"It may be argued that other religions share some of these ridiculous traits, and when I read of some Jehovah's Witnesses or Baptists mowing down innocent civilians in the name of their own particular invisible being, I'll concede that all religion is as evil as Islam in the 21st century. "Religion of Peace" my arse. Not JW or Baptists specifically, but various Christians: - Anti-balaka groups in Africa - National Liberation Front of Tripura - Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland - Karantina and Tel al-Zaatar massacres - Sabra and Shatila massacre - The Lord's Resistance Army - Army of God - Christ's Lambs - Centennial Olympic Park bombing - The Covenant - The Sword - Arm of the Lord (CSA) - Defensive Action - Montana Freemen - The Hutaree Christian militia movement - Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooting I mean, I'm Christian (as I said above). But we've got our own fair share of awful extremists who are prepared to murder and indeed massacre in God's name. So... if you could stop fearing those who follow Islam specifically and also fear all Christians - that would be cool. Thanks. All comparatively minor and insignificant groups. It's all about perspective and numbers. However, I'm obviously not as cool and trendy as you are. I remember another post of yours from a while back where you stated that Nazi soldiers deserved respect because they were doing what they believed in. Your attitude toward Islam is comparable. Muslims have killed comparatively few in terror attacks. IIRC, more white British people have killed British people than Muslims in terror attacks. The IRA, for example, murdered over 1800 civilians and security forces. Between 2010-2015, only 2% of terrorist incidents in Europe were committed by Muslims. Anders Breivik slaughtered 77 people in Norway to further his 'pro-Christian' stance. Between 1980-2005, 42% of terrorist attacks in the US were committed by Latinos. Not muslims. 24% were committed by the extreme left. In 2013 you were more likely to be killed by a toddler than a terrorist in the US. The chances of being harmed by a Muslim must be miniscule. 16% of all violent crime in the UK is thought to be domestic violence. The main perpetrators of DV are male. A woman is killed at the hands of her male partner approximately every 4 days in Britain. Around 80 deaths a year. When we will call for all men to be deported? They are one of the biggest safety risks to women... Good facts, I see the extreme left weren't being that liberal then again. The extreme left isn't liberal. Anything with the word 'extreme' in can't be liberal. Its an oxymoron." Yeah it's contradictory but I bet most of them identified as liberal that is the hypocrisy.

These 'minority incidents' are flamed by speculation but are designed (if they pull it off correctly) to maim / kill in numbers, to affect & shaken our daily normality....a teacher, a tourist, someone retired, everyday people. I have no idea on the murder stats so you're probably correct & it makes horrible reading but overall it doesn't seem to have the same impact for me as this 'minority incident'...

I can tell you this they are wrong from the stats I have seen, male or female death at the hands of a partner is not acceptable in any way shape or form, for you to single out women is poor and not jusifyable in anyway Although domestic violence is a problem for men too, more women die at the hands of men via domestic violence than men at the hands of women, if purely down to the difference in strength. We're singling out women because its still going on, in the 21st century, 100 years after female emancipation. And its wrong. Do try not to take this personally. Her figures are correct. Her figure are completely wrong and are very much a fraction of what they should be but I'm not one for putting figures up,I'm not taking it personal at all I work a lot with WOMEN and MEN who suffer domestic violence as part of a group in my home town and yes it shouldn't be happening at all by both party's male and women at all,it's not about stregth at all cos most domestic abuse involve object OK OK, if it will make you feel better, men suffer equally from death by DV as women. Better now? Why do you feel the need to confine it to death rather than just DV?" Because that was the point Interrupted was making. I am aware the DV is just as much a problem against men, but DV deaths are more of a problem for women.

"Were you allowed to pray alongside male Muslims? I don't think Lickety is a Muslim. Although she is brown so I can see why some people might make that assumption. It's amazing how often it happens... just because of my colour, I assume. I remember that post a year or so ago where they accused you of being a radical Muslim. My point about people being indiscriminately prejudiced against brown people stands on this site sometimes. Ah yes, I'd forgotten that. Me a former Sunday school teacher, wannabe nun, confirmed by two bishops in the Church of England makes me such a radical. Muslim or otherwise. Im confused is this some kind of injoke as you look white as snow in your pics?" Really? I assure you I'm not. A whole bunch of forum folk can also attest that I am not. I even have a funny last name to prove I'm not.

"Whats your views? Does it exist? Have you or anyone you know got it ? Do you think its irrational to have it or do you think its justified? " It definitely exists. I know lots of people who have it, i think. But i can't work out if they are scared or racist. I think there is an awful lot of propaganda out there. I blame the media. They like to keep you scared. If you are scared you want information. It's a vicious circle. The media has always tried to get us riled up by somebody. First it was blacks, then Indians, then Polish and now muslims. Personally i would rather all religious beliefs be kept to ones self. "no, i don't suffer it. irishaphobia wasn't a thing during the times of the troubles..someone posted a pic on facebook of the damage the ira bombs did back then and it was fucking horrific compared to most stuff since, but nobody went and developed a phobia of irish folk, people just knew it was a few none representative nutters running about the place being dick heads...is there even a word for it? i'm not sure... anyhow, my point is it's easier to point to folk who perhaps look different to us and use tongues we don't understand it gives idiots a 'them' to point at and to demonise, they're a recognisable 'enemy' if you will and folk don't like vague fears...they like good solid ones they can keep their eye on I was here in London during the IRA attacks. London was being locked down on a regular basis, particularly the City with its Ring of Steel. There was discrimination against Irish people but that had existed before. We carried on. Just as we do now. i'm wondering if in london and the major cities the atmosphere was different? a little more tense? as perhaps in alot of major cities, but i don't remember there being such a big phobia..i don't know, i was young then (alas...to be young again!) and maybe alot of factors like social media and the speed of information and misinformation was a lot slower back then so i was more ignorant of it perhaps.. in your opinion is it comparable? the feeling toward irish people back then and the feeling of islamaphobia now? what do you reckon? you have a wise head on you" Islamaphobia is much worse but I think it is about the constant news cycle and internet now. When you only got the news on the radio every hour and three times on the telly it was easier to live in a more blinkered way. Also, people found it easier to separate out the religious and country of origin aspects because it was Irish people killing Irish people too. Bringing it to the mainland was an escalation of that and brought in everyone as a clearly political message. It was organised, with warnings and statements after. IS has killed more Muslims than they have killed Christians (or any other religion) just as the IRA would end up killing some of their own, as collateral damage, but we appear not to care about the innocent Muslims killed. There are no warnings, the statements that come out now may not actually be from the organising perpetrators as it may be lone wolves trying to prove themselves in some way. Plus, it is easier to fear and be suspicious of someone who looks different. The Irish looked like everyone else. I was the one being stared at whenever there was evacuation back then as I didn't look like the majority of people on that scene. In fact, when I was evacuated from County Hall I only remember one other black person in the meeting room I was in.

"Whats your views? Does it exist? Have you or anyone you know got it ? Do you think its irrational to have it or do you think its justified? It definitely exists. Half of them have this quest to either push it onto others or shun (and worse) their fellow human if in disagreement with their beliefs. " That's true of all ideas, though. Vegans have posters extolling the evil of not only eating meat but also eggs and dairy. Safer sex messages are promoted, quite zealously by some. Capitalism is pushed by others. Atheists are quite vocal about not having religion anywhere and extolling their belief in science. I could go on but you get the point. I don't believe religion is the cause of the wars or terror but the excuse.

"The teachings of islam,in essence, says that there is no other god or religion but islam, anyone who has a different belief is not tolerated Whether people like it or not, the United Kingdom is a christian country and our laws and government are based upon that premise Christianity provides for tolerance for all, islam tolerates no one else " Laws and government shouldn't be based on any religious premise.

"What about Islamaphobiaphobia? N those that like to virtue signal by defending a culture/religion that would have them killed without a second thought in the name of moral decency? Some religions do have their good points....but the bad points far outweigh them I reckon!" I don't agree, but you would expect that from my other posts. I don't think the religion is going to kill me. All the Abrahamic faiths have the same basic tenets. It is the extreme interpretation of the punishments for apostasy and difference in belief while ignoring the teachings on peace and reconciliation that is at fault. By the very definition of extreme, most adherents to any religion are not extreme.

I'm not trying to say that there are no peaceful muslims, but it's another sad but true fact that in a lot of countries under sharia law women are treated as second class citizens, gays n transgendered are put to death by being thrown off buildings......not very peaceful or tolerant is it!
