The fact that the Scottish parliament has suspended work is a moderately relevant aside, but the shit about Ms Sturgeon was only there to make a glib point.

If I were to make up an assumption on her reaction, having met the woman, I would suggest that she would be more concerned about what was going on.

No-one is spreading fear or over reacting. We should go about our lives. Acting as though it was a minor incident minimises the loss. It is a major incident. If you want to go about your normal life, you can do, being in here isn't doing that.

Shots were fired and car used to hit pedestrians. Also a suspect package has been found and being dealt with

Aye. The various witness reports seem to corroborate that the shots were all fired by the police.

There was some confusion earlier on as to whether the sound of a vehicle crashing was a gun shot or not but that seems to be known now.

Still despite not having a gun the assailant seems to have managed to badly injure a police officer before the assailant was shot by the police.

That is sad and these officers deserve credit.

You make a valid point. But you make it in response to the comment at the top of this thread that really wasn't spreading fear or a calamitous overreaction, and to a poster that has been posting through both threads on this subject in a measured and calming way. So perhaps all is okay.

The Thames is very clean now, very few industrial businesses left along the Thames to polute it... All now luxury apartments..

As for thames water, the sewage was from much further down stream..

However it's great to hear she is fine, I had heard on a report that a person was spotted in the water after the event.

I'm a firm believer in every bad thing having a silver lining, and so here I go, I hope people can see the bigger picture.

Today a number of people were killed in an attack in London, whilst it's terrible that people died, shouldn't we be grateful the number was so low considering the location, a very busy tourist location in the heart of London.

Today a terrorist attack took place in London. Haven't we been told that it's imminent for a very long time. Now it's happened hopefully some of the nervous tension will relax a little. The response times of the emergency services were incredible, proof that their training and diligence since 2007 had worked. They will never be able to prevent these things from happening, it's just impossible, but today they showed what they are made of, great things.

Terrible things happen people, and they affect us all in so many ways, but no matter what they are, you should always try and find the silver lining.

If you're a Londoner and you're reading this, the silver lining is that today wasn't your day to die, be grateful and go and do something great this evening in memory of those that can't as a result of today's events. If your not a Londoner and don't know anyone affected by today, be grateful that that is your life, go and have a drink, have a wank, a smoke, shoot up, I don't care, just be grateful to be alive.

You never know when your number might be up, so don't waste your time with negativity. Be grateful to be alive and live your life.

The plice say it was a terrorist attack, at the moment we are seeing terrorist attacks all over Europe, it is hardly surprising that most people will think the terroists are from the same group
