I have to ask.... Kik?

So what's the verdict with kik, I've had people tell me it's safer than giving my number out so have been using it but have seen some messages on threads saying we shouldn't use it. Why?

I use it and it saves me giving my number out. It isn't tied to anywhere else like Facebook either.

Allows quicker communication and 'live' photos. I talk to several fabbers there individually and in a group.

That said I am a bloke and therefore less likely to have problems with it.

It's my instant message app of choice.

No telephone numbers, you can block people if you don't like them, can send pics, messages, videos, files. What's not to like?

I use KIK in preference to all other message apps as it doesn't need a phone number. How you use it is up to you.

I use it to talk a few. But quite a few seem to think it means you're down to talk about fucking night and day. Yeah, it's ok.

I use it, I find it useful for chatting to people from places like her where you aren't always confident giving out your number straight away

As with everything its not completely safe, if you know someone's user name you can search and find them... If you know them or not

I the chat groups I'm in we ask for a live picture so that's good for seeing that the person you chat too are who they claim to be

There's also a video chat feature, its not great quality but it is useful

It's great. It's better than swapping numbers and as soon as someone gets on your tits you can block them

I'm as chosey giving out my kik details as I am my phone number. Yes you can block but I don't want randoms wasting my time. I just see it as another way to text people.

I use Kik for the same reasons others have stated previously.I like that it tells you if a pic was taken with their camera,great for making sure someone looks like their profile pics

for those who are grumbling about being harassed with constant messages on Kik,just mute or block whoever won't stop messaging

Used to use it more. Never had a problem at all really. Seems pretty safe, had a couple of weirdos but its easily fixed. Pretty good

I use it for messaging as the system they have on here is archaic. Kik allows for mor natural conversation unlike messages.

All the reasons above are positive. I've yet to find a negative that can't be overcome. You can delete and change your ID if need be.

Theema is one of the safest secure messaging apps you can gave if you need 100% security about information. ..end to end proper encryption.

I use it to talk to anyone I'm thinking of meeting. I make it clear I'm not going to swap any pics , videos or get involved in wank chat. I like the fact I can also have a quick cam chat to make sure they're real

No number exchange needed and easy to block people too if needed

I use it as a way of texting withiut using my phone number plus its free for pics and videos so no mms message charges there

Overall i think its the best of the choices, snapchat has to many connatations with nudes, whatsapp requires a phone number and the rest are all so small very few people use them

It's good if your a pic collector. We got fed up with it as people always askjng for pics when there are plenty of us to see on our profile.

Yes I hate it,ask for pics and videos and it gets annoying .Im not into phone sex so i get bored,its for pic collectors .They could be anyone and pics could go anywhere. OK for seeing if you like someone. But I'd expect a number for chat .

You can block people on whatsapp, but they still have your phone number. Whereas on kik, block them and jobs done. You can send vids and pics on kik too, just not that long.

Yes, Kik is brilliant - saves giving out your phone number, so no risk of Fab life and real world getting muddled.

Happy to chat there, much prefer 'dialogue' to the ping-ponging of messages on here.

But you have to message me first for my Kik username

It is free.

No phone number.

Group chats.

No lengthy join up process.

Easy to use.

We like kik for lots of reasons. It is easy to keep track of a number of conversations, the conversation runs much more fluidly and you can send pictures. What is not to like?

We don't send identifiable nixes or our actual address or number until we know the person they are claiming to be. Basic Internet safety and it works well

We don't use kik, cam, whatsapp etc.. Just the message system on here and a mobile number. The mobile number has been purely set up for the swinging scene and it's not either of our perspnal/works numbers.

We do this because we're conscious of pic hunters. So 1 profile pic, rest are friend pics, we have to meet to be on our friends list and just mobile and FabSwingers message system.

I don't use WhatsApp, so no pint giving my number out, as you can do exactly the same things with it, and as people have said, doesn't connect with anything else, so can't get 'stalked' so to speak.
