So...when deciding to meet other new people do you tend to listen to the opinion of others ( sometimes a good thing, something's a bad thing) or if your interest is piqued by them do you give the person / people the benefit of the doubt and make your own mind up?

Make your own mind up. You never know if others have ulterior motives, so go with your own gut instinct.

Benefit of the doubt. I might get on brilliantly with someone who didn't get on with someone else.

I go with my own mind.

(Look at how how short and not rambly that post is).

Always make up my own mind.

Yes it might steer me wrong, but at least is was my own choice. I then don't get to blame anyone else.

I would always trust my own gut instincts. People don't always get on, that doesn't mean I won't like them.

you're on a website, where,

open mindedness, is the required norm.

Use your own intelligence, and make your own mind up.

I will take into consideration what others have to say but still choose to meet and see where it goes.

Thanks for the feedback. We weren't asking because we need to make that decision ourselves, we already have our own opinion on that. Just a general post added for discussion, which I'm assuming is ok for any of us onsite members to do

I've found certain people have ulterior motives when it comes to giving their opinion of others. I'll always make my own mind up.

Depended on who was giving me tne heads up on that person and to how negative the feedback was i suppose ?

But as a rule of thumb I like to make my own mind up about someone but will take sound advice about that persons character on board.

I think you'd have to be very good friends with someone here to trust their opinion - and even then they could be wrong!

I don't really read what other people tend to say about someone. I take people at face value, after all they are a human being...
