A friend and I were asked in Aldi a few weeks ago and my friend isn't far off 40.
Other than that it's been a while, although a lot of bars ask absolutely everyone for ID now and scan them all. |

I've never been asked for id unless I'm travelling. When I was a teenager you could get served in pubs underage with very little problem and if they did question your age you just moved on to the pub that didn't. |

The one and only time I've ever been ID'd buying booze, was on my 18th birthday.
Funny story; I was shopping with my mum maybe a year ago at Tesco, and I was buying a bottle of wine for myself for later. My mum god asked for ID, but didn't have any with her (she's nearly 50...) so I couldn't buy the fucking wine! |

"So when was the last time you were asked for ID?
Mine was this Saturday gone, nearly 30 and still getting carded "
Surely that's a good thing unless they wanted your address |

Quite a few places now have the card scanner so it's not about proving your age it's about the owners knowing whose entering their premises.
Otherwise I haven't been asked to prove my age for a long time, maybe the wrinkles are starting to show |

Thats to do with licencing, if some places have a lot of problems with fighting or drugs/OD's then everyone has to have id on them and it be entered so if there is an incident it can be passed to police or ambulance crews |
