Would you or have you chosen to say those words at your wedding?

If so why?

If not why not?

Just had a friend whos getting married discuss this topic with me.

Whats your thoughts on those vows in this day and age?

no.

a marriage contract is a legally binding contract and my vows would reflect that.

love doesn't need laws, neither does honour, and obeying is just fucking stupid in this day and age.

Not something we'd use in our vows but if people want to say those vows that's their choice.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I've never been married and never likely to be but those wouldn't be the vows I would make.

No not something I'd say, when I got married we changed obey to cherish.

East Sussex

We got married in a registry office so didn't have to make this choice.

I would choose to love and honor. I don't think any adult should be obliged to obey another and sign a contract to that effect.

I haven't been married, I think it's unlikely I'll marry. If I do get married I'd like to do so at a registry office.

I would never say obey. I am my own person with my own mind and opinions. Im not here to obey anyone.

A world of my own

Can't remember if it was said when I got married or not. However the vows were least of my problems.. if there is ever a next time I'll marry someone I love and I'd hope we could write our own vows that are meaningful and as individual as we are.
