Well I have booked in for mine doing on Tuesday morning as a birthday present for my lover and am absolutely shitting myself.

Go for hood you still get a good buzz especially as it'll be new.
And alot less risks regards nerve damage
Take a panty liner
Take pain relief prior
Wear loose pants
And expect no oral for 6 weeks

Hood piercing takes seconds and heals it days (mine was fine the day after) but clit piercing are more risky, you can lose all sensation which is why I went fir hood!
I love mine though, when I first had it done I had a tiny hoop but sometimes it would rub me at inappropriate times! Now I have a pretty little bar and it only rubs when I make it! |

I had a vertical piercing on hood it healed very quickly almost no pain a bit like pressure and a sharp sensation was done very quickly, i have a bar in.  |

I had my hood done with a hoop but now have my clit pierced with a bar & it is much better |

Ahhhhh I'd love to have mine done but Hubby would go mad and not agree to it even although we don't have sex anyway but my bestie had it done and said it wasn't that painful at all. Good luck hun anyway x |

I think YOU need to be 100% certain what you want doing. I think hood is one thing, actual clit is a different league.
My advice is delay and research it properly. |

Bit concerned that you're not sure. Have you read up on it?
I'd suggest the hood, not the clit itself. You run the risk of numbing it completely, forever. Not worth it.
Mine smarted but within two days, no pain, nothing. I stupidly removed it as my ex didn't like it (she was jealous of it).
Like overusing a wand, it can lose sensitivity if over stimulated but my goodness it's fun |

I have looked at the vch. Which is my preferred choice. But I did feel very relaxed with the guy on the phone, its more the pain issue that bothers me. |

My hubby doesn't want me to have it done, but its my body. Its been a long standing joke with my lover that if we were still seeing each other by his birthday that I would have it done as his present but he has to pay for it.lol |

Absolutely fine being pierced, literally one or two seconds of pain then done. Pain free afterwards, I've had mine done 3 times and always have sex v quickly afterwards (next day) and as long as gentle no problem

It's recommended that you abstain from any sex for at least 2 weeks after it's done. The area is a quick healer, but it's still an open wound and could become infected if not careful.
When I had my VCH done, I was doing regular saline washes, whilst sitting on the toilet to help it heal. Just be careful of lace knickers and shower scrunches! |

I have a vch and won't lie - the pain when it was done was incredibly sharp and made me feel sick, like when you bang your elbow. But .... once done, it barely felt sore at all and was so quick to heal. In fact I've had it done twice as I let it close up following an operation, so the pain can't have been *that* bad for me to go back again.
There's been absolutely no loss of sensation, probably the opposite as the ball at the end of the bar effectively sits on your clit meaning it's stimulated, albeit gently, most of the time.
Speaking from painful experience, just prewarn people with gaps between their front teeth to be careful down there ....  |

Mine hurt like bitch, bled a bit, went very swollen for a week to the extent I had to be careful how I sat down and other than looking nice, hasn't made a blind big of difference to sensation.
