You may be able to claim compensation from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) if you’ve been injured or your property has been damaged because of an uninsured or ‘hit and run’ driver.
Contact the MIB directly for more information - eg to find out what you can claim for, the deadlines for claiming and how to claim. |

Glad your son is ok. Mine was knocked off his motorbike last November by a woman and flung over the central reservation under the wheels of a lorry. Fortunately the lorry driver was switched on and had seen the accident unfolding and was stationery as he rolled under the wheels. It also stopped the rest of the traffic too. The woman was only concerned about her NCD and has subsequently buggered off out of the country back home. Fortunately insured (but with a cheap cowboy outfit) and the insurance company are slow paying out because they apparently need to discuss with the car driver about the payment he should receive. (Bike is a write-off and he lost his job and is still on heavy duty pain killers and using a stick to limp around). I then parked my car (with dogs in it) and some git hit the front end so hard it cracked the bumper and broke the grill. No note of apology never mind number of insurance company etc. Son people! |

I had a uninsured car driver write off a brand new motorbike for me some years ago. After a bit of arguing about fault, the MIB agreed it was 100% the car drivers fault and paid me a fair value for the bike, damaged clothing and compensation for injuries. Good luck with it and glad your son is okay. |

O2 changed the signal masts near us last year and instead of improving its gone worse so get little or no signal at the moment.
Which is why had to give landline number |

Cars not too bad to be fair. Just damage to bumper and exhaust brackets snapped. Not gunna claim for repairs as its gunna cost me about 50quid to sort myself |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
Many years ago, I was rear- ended by a car that then drove off, resulting in a late night car chase as I caught up in order to give the police the registration plate, at which point the operator persuaded me to stop chasing.
It later transpired that some scrote had "borrowed" his girlfriend's dad's car, and therefore was uninsured as well as unlicensed.
Usefully, our justice system banned him from driving...
