More racism and sexism

Jump to: Newest in thread

So there's now an app available for groups of friends eating out, to enable them to split the bill "totally fairly".

If you're white and/or male, you pay the most. If you're non-white and/or female, you pay the least.

Just seems like another example of sexism towards men (which is epidemic) and racism towards white people (which again is epidemic)

It's here and in the app store...

Can't people just do the maths in their head?

And is that app for real or some ploy to get publicity be it bad or good?

People need an app to help them split a bill?!

Phones have calculators...dividing the bill by the number of people, seems simple enough to me. Or just ask for seperate checks if you only want to pay for what you ordered. I mean, really?

I don't have friends who would use a stupid app like that so no worries here. If they did I would disown them.

It's is a political point thing, rather than something people are actually going to use.

Are you really going to go out with a black mate and say , you pay 10% less because black people on average earn less than white middle class people??

It's just launched to make a point. I wouldn't get het up about it.

It's not to split the bill up like that. You enter your sex and race. It then splits the bill based on the wage gap between those sex and racial groups.

I am launching a competitive more positive vibe app.

It assumes the women are high achieving, high net worth, go-getters, and pick up the whole tab.

This casts off the old stereotypes of lower earnings and sets a much more positive image for what women can and should achieve.

It's not on app-store yet, just post me the 99p.

The real beauty of this app is that I don't need to worry about paying woman and any other structurally disadvantage people fairly or equally any more. I love simple solutions. I reckon I can even make them feel less certain about their job security/progression if they wish to start a family. As for the ones that look or speak a bit different... I don't talk to them if I can avoid it anyway... as they are unlikely to understand current affairs properly if they don't read the Daily Mail. They're so silly, it's really easy to read as there is an app for that too!

I can rock on with my relatively well paid white collar executive position. I love it when these digital innovators get me out of a real bind and stick it up them libtards while they're at it.

If your female become a rugmuncher and go out with other females

I can't figure this shit out

Some empowered women want to split the bill because the man paying is chauvinistic

But for others it must be split proportional to a perceived wage gap because they are oppressed

If it wasn't some silly political statement... amongst reasonable friends, people could bang in their actual earnings and split things that way. Then it would be semi plausible.

"It's cool, I know you're a starving student... I'll pay a bit more this time" kind of thing

If some one pulled out their phone, started using the app I would pretend I forgot my wallet.

Very much yes - like doctorprod above, you've outlined the feminists vs. postfeminist clash. Unfortunately the world is in a place of complete confusion.

And yes, that was part of my comment above also - you can't purport to be redressing inequality between friends while ignoring personal financial circumstances. Like, in that clip the asian male is fucked - even if he may be washing dirty dishes at the back of a chinese takeaway instead of working for a six-figure salary as tech wiz!
