I love Peter Kay, Phoenix Nights was brilliant. Would love to know if there really was a fire officer called Keith Laird in Bolton, "woof it goes up"

Victoria Woods "Kitty" monologues with Patricia Routledge. Not laugh out loud funny but you can watch again and again and still be amused.

Lee Evans does one about pushing a car to bump start it, with his wife in the driver's seat. She doesn't take the handbrake off and doesn't know how to bump start. It was exactly what you did with my husband.

I thought it was true, but wondered if it was just part of the humour. After spending many a night in a Bolton social club, the show seems even better

There actually was a fire officer in Bolton called Keith Laird. Kay got sued and had to make a donation to the Firemen's Charity (and, presumably, Battersea Dogs Home)

Bicycle repairman sketch by Monty Python.

Everyone was dressed as Superman. There was a superman supping his pint of bitter in the pub. Superman putting in his doing his washing at the coin laundrette.

Then bicycle repair man turns up in regular clothes to save the day...

I'm crying whilst typing this!

Black Books. There's an episode where Manny is locked in the shop and turns all Ray Mears.

His confession to Bernard following the ordeal is 'I ate your bees'. I have no idea why but that bit makes me howl Nd cry with laughter. Never gets old.
