It's an internet site, some people will undoubtedly lie.
I think a lot of it depends on why people are on here and what they are hoping for. People who are just after quick random 'one off' sex probably don't see any harm in lying, whereas people who are on here looking for a relationship will expect the truth and be honest themselves. |

The sudden disappearance acts are becoming more frequent too.
Just move on. Not much more you can do. Try filter carefully, change your criteria a little. |

not sure why someone in his 50s would send me an old pic of himself...actually once i saw a recent one i do get why he sent an old pic in the first place.  |

It is difficult for some people to be upfront and honest. Not just on here, but in general on a daily basis.
A few people are compulsive liars.
They lie about anything and everything. Even if they have been busted, they will deny and cover up with more lies.
It does not stop there...
Worst situation is when they pretend they don't know. Instead they will try to convince you they were telling the truth.
Once I find out they are a liar, misleading or playing silly games because that is the way they like to do things I end all communication.
In the past I gave people opportunities thinking prehaps they will learn.
They don't, it get's much worse... because then they think they can keep getting away with it and keep taking advantage of your good nature.
It is frustrating especially when you think there is potential and something with real substance.
I don't dwell on it or let anyone put me off.
Can't change people's habits.
Having said that...
I have always wondered what happens when two liars come together? 
Is it like a competition? Who can lie most or who can tell the biggest lie?
Wait...
Is it the case where the rest of us who have basic understanding of principles are missing out?
Is it fun to lie?
Do liars know about a game that we never heard of?
Damn it now I need to test this!
Who wants to play a game with me? Let's lie to each other and see if it is fun...
