Well the obvious one i guess. I was just wondering what sort of price, and do they still take up loads of space?

Straight or curved stairs? Motor unit itself has been getting smaller every couple of years and aren't that wide, depends on width of stairs...straight rail is easiest to put in...some mobility shops have demo models you can look at

Massively, massively, hugely expensive if you need a curve put in and then they sell for peanuts when you no longer need them.

And the rest. My parents one was £5k for two curves to get round a landing.

I think you have to consider it in terms of what it saves you now and the benefits it will provide rather than the resale value.

Certainly, when you need one there really is no other option. I'm just saying that the prices are truly shocking.

I'm sure. It's a technical bit of kit with relatively low sale volumes.

I've been trying to work out whether it would even be possible for my home. When I bought my place it was just a year after not being able to walk but I could shuffle on my bum.

if your worried about the cost it might be worth looking to charities and grants for some help with that.

Good idea. It's always a good idea to plan to put it in before its needed in earnest. As soon as you need one, like yesterday, the usual providers have got you over a barrel.
