It's pretty much de rigueur in my line of work (IT Sales).
Not had many meets from it though..."
Meets from LinkedIn? 
I use it for work. I wouldn't imagine using it for anything else. |

Pretty much this. A lot of genuine people but more self obsessed and put themselves on a pedestal. I have never seen so much BS on a profiles. Have had people claim they have worked fort company in the past. I didn't even know them. Nearly everyone self employed is a CEO or President. 
It has its uses but wouldn't trust it as gospel. |

though I guess if you count job interviews, I have had a few meets through LinkedIn!
Very useful tool. I always use it to check out a customer/partner before a meeting. Great for finding things in common to talk about in the "coffee moments". |
