Is my religion considered
Jump to: Newest in thread
As an agnostic and most definitely not a woman, I couldn't possibly say, but I doubt very much that someone's faith would be utmost on their mind when looking for a meet on here. If however you are looking for a long term fb and want to bring your religious beliefs into that dynamic, then it may hinder your chances slightly. |

I'm not religious myself and prefer not to get tangled up in religious drama.
However, if the guy/girl didn't mention religion and it didn't impact on our meet then their choice of religion wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

"Guessing that if they are on Fab, then faith is not at the forefront if their mind...
Do all faiths frown upon sex?
Some seem to..."
Oh my god (can I say that?). Some do, some don't. Lol. even religios views are the same as on Fab. |

Are you religious?
Most religions frown on adultery, and sex outside of marriage, so I assume that most swingers are not strict followers.
I know certain religions require circumcision, but that is another preference. |

It's never come up on a meet, it wouldn't worry me as long as they were up for sex. I talked to an old lady on a bus about God once though, it was better than being rude to her when she started chatting about it. XXX |

Most people don't discuss religion when getting to know each other for the purposes of casual sex. But if someone did discuss, I would certainly take it into account because it something that may affect me and the quality of out meet.
A couple of questions I look into: how do you as a religious person reconcile the cognitive dissonance between the potentially sex-negative, homophobic, misogynistic teachings of your religion with your present fucking practices or desires? Do you experience sexual guilt and if so how do you manage it? |

Well that's messed up isn't it. This is only my opinion. It's not going to work out for me. I'm out, not the religion for me then. But enjoy yourself if it's your kind of thing. |

I'm atheist and assume that most people into swinging are going to be as well. I never ask, but if someone started banging on about religious stuff it would absolutely put me off, just the same as if they banged on about something else that I think is bollocks like fairies and unicorns

I'm a comparative religion nut, and enjoy discussion about the tenets of faith. However I loathe being evangelised at, so not interested in anyone trying to save my soul. Far too late for that!
I have managed to shag a good cross section of religions. |

I would think it rather weird if religion came up during a meet and if you started talking to me about god (whatever form your god takes) I'd run a bloody mile.
If you don't mention it I'm not bothered. |

my point is. if a religion is telling me I can't have sex outside of a marriage, its not for me.
But if thats the faith your into, and your okay with the rules it sets. & you choose that way of living. You enjoy having your faith.
Is that clearer? |

If someone wants to bring their Bible to a meet,I will bring my copy of Christopher Hitchens 'God is not great (how religion poisons everything)' and we can have a lively and interesting discussion.
It's highly unlikely that we will end up in the sack together though.

I was approached by a vicar yesterday. Don't really know why I'm mentioning it, but it did get me thinking.
I thought...."what a load of bollocks"
Like, if you did yell out "oh god" would he be thinking the big dude in the sky has his back and has made him some super stud?! |

Pretty much sums it up for me. But on a social if I realises someone was overly religious I would possibly reconsider |

There was a young lady from Kew
Who said as the curate withdrew
The vicar is quicker
And thicker and slicker
And longer and stronger than you.
Just thought I'd throw that one in for a laff. |

Man's point of view,
If she is a nun, won't mind if she brings it up on social meet. But when playing, 1 or 2 'Oh Lord' will do. |

A bit. It sounded like you were accusing them of being religious. |

and that's the problem really.
my ex was a mormon and i went along with that, they wanted us to be married and offered to do it for free, i was pregnant with r2nd child at the time.
what they didn't know was he was abusive and i wanted to leave him. anyway i declined their generous offer of a free marriage. and left him. |
