Nope, in this case there's two. The lack of gender parity is a real issue however jocular you may feel your OP is. |

I'm very conflicted about all of this.
Whilst I agree that gender equality is a hugely important issue and abhor any persecution or lack of rights and opportunities based on gender, I also like looking at tits and fannies.
Mods, can we change the title of the thread to 'show us your pussy' instead?
In the interests of equality I'm sure there will be a 'Willy Wednesday' thread along soon for balance |

And three.
Women still being treated as property just because of their gender, killed, sexual violence, etc. Comment is like saying, oh it is World Aids Day show us your barebacking photos.
I get you are trying to be humorous but I too feel this particular one is not all appropriate. Even though I certainly feel that women should have the safety and confidence to show off whatever parts of their bodies they like without fear or shame! |

Not once have I ever thought of women or men as anything but as equals.
It was a playful title and nothing more. That's all it was. But you all put me straight. And i felt like I've been firmly told. Once again there are rules of what you can and can't post here. I wish I knew sometimes.
Thanks. |

"Ladies - Show us those lovely figures of yours. "
Dear OP
You asked nicely and I am not at all offended by your request. This is fabswingers not the W. I. Website.
You asked to see our "lovely" figures which many of us happily displaying anyway. No one forces me to do anything I do not want to.
Happy international women's day. |

Don't you dare try to make out I don't know, or don't care why women's rights are important.
I admire every woman I respect. Equally, and I can't believe I feel that I need to put that in black and white for you.
These responses have really ticked me off, in one way only. Its just highlited how little people actually know anything about me.
Now it's clear why my freinds in here are few and far between.

it's clear to me that this was a lighthearted quip and absolutely in the spirit and context of what is usually posted in 'The Lounge' forum and not an attempt to demean or trivialise the underlying message of the day.

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with (and fully support) the sentiment of IWD, let's not forget that we're all posting on an internet casual sex site forum where the modus operandi IS to sexualise each other (men AND women). I'm not sure who the t*ssp*ts comment was aimed at but if it's the OP or just a generic statement I feel it's way off the mark in this instance.

I think some things shouldn't be sexualised regardless of the site that it appears on and the modus operandi of the site. I don't think reeling out 'it's a casual sex site' is an appropriate justification for it in this case - it's a tired old line rolled out when someone doesn't understand why something is important to others.
On the same hand, I also don't agree with calling someone names for what was a in poor taste thread. |

I understand and accept what you're saying and absolutely recognise the importance to millions of women, and men, than women's rights issues hold but, on this one, will respectfully have to agree to disagree on the proportionality of the response to the OP's thread. Without wishing to dilute the importance of IWD (which, to reiterate, I fully support) I think it's a gross overreaction to what was intended to be a lighthearted thread.
And whilst I understand your 'tired old line' response the fact that this IS indeed a casual sex site adds important context to the OPs initial jovial thread.
Had this thread been anywhere else, Facebook or any other forum, then yes - it would be wholly inappropriate.
The fact it's on a forum where men and women CONSTANTLY sexualise each other means it is consistent with, and in context to, the rest of the content here albeit, in hindsight, possibly ill-considered.
Anyway, at risk of inflaming the debate further I will withdraw from the thread at this juncture.

You evidently don't. Yes, it was clear it was an intended lighthearted thread but it can still be in poor taste.
And saying that the thread is consistent with other threads posted in the lounge? An appeal to probability is a weak argument. There are threads that deal with ill health and money issues, days that are about health issues, lgbt etc, - the people are not sexualised on those threads. Perhaps the same respect could be shown on this one day of the year. |

I would argue it's a day for EVERYBODY. Surely if women's rights are to be taken seriously and proper equity on a global and local scale are to be achieved then it needs to be an inclusive process that everyone buys into.
Creating division or excluding men in this process is surely setting up a pathway to failure isn't it? |

"International womens day is to highlight womens struggle for civil rights, maybe the wrong title for show us your body? Maybe im wrong
No, you are not wrong
IWD is a day to highlight inequalities which women still have to struggle against. Not a day for women to be sexualised by some little t*ssp*ts
IWD is not meant for you; I feel different to your feelings about the International WOMEN'S day
I would argue it's a day for EVERYBODY. Surely if women's rights are to be taken seriously and proper equity on a global and local scale are to be achieved then it needs to be an inclusive process that everyone buys into.
Creating division or excluding men in this process is surely setting up a pathway to failure isn't it? "
I can just see on this thread that the moment some men get involved, the IWD is reduced to sexual innuendos. It would be great that they would get involved in the spirit the IWD is meant for. Clearly, that is not possible for some
There are many threads on these forums which deal with serious issues and which do not and should not decend into sexualising women. IWD is a serious issue and not a day meant for us to 'show our figures' on this or on any other site
Clearly, this is not a serious issue for some men and I wish that they would NOT get involved as their 'contribution' is exactly what women's struggle is against |
