while not been a forum regular, i always have a check at least every day, and have a read and sometimes put the odd (some might say very odd) posting, but when i see a topic with maybe 80 or ninety postings,i just cant be bothered reading it all, so normally only read postings with only a few replys does any one else do the same or am i just lazy |

That's a habit of mine too sometimes. I might read the last few posts of a long thread to see if I can get the gist of it but if I can't I either post something totally unrelated or leave it alone altogether |

Read the first to see what it was supposed to be about, then the last two or three to see how far Debutante has managed to change the topic to something totally diferent |

I probably read less than 10% of the forum... if the title is shite (shite = doesn't grab my attention) I generally can't be arsed to see what a thread is about.

That's what we get for poor rules and mods on the forums.
It all becomes too much hard work to read, not to mention the many many totally inappropriate posts (i.e. the chat type posts). The forums are stored on FAB server, will fill up and maybe slow the servers down.
Maybe if the hinted at new chat interfaces materials, some new rules regarding the forums could be made |

Inappropriate posts ???? In who's eyes ?, Yours ? To you a post may seem inappropriate but to someone else it may be very appropriate ?
Poor Rules and Mods on the forums ?
Ok then if you made the rules which ones would you change ?
and
If you were a mod, how would you deal with the situation to which you refer ?
Your call - |

The reply is to the topic, about too much to read, with most being drivel. Especially the I love you, your my best mate, do anything for you type replies all over the forums... If you want to meet or play with them, send them a message and the old saying 'get a room', lol
The rules allow anything to be posted with the exception of name and shame (they still happen with the hints etc), phone numbers, circumnavigate blocking, or promoting.
Do you think someone saying morning or the game would you fuck the above poster or any topic that is a ploy to chat, is ok?, when there is a chat facility?
Remember the forum messages are stored on FAB server.
I guess the topics I would like to see removed are the chat type. Remove ones in the wrong heading to the right one. And the posts encouraging or promoting the 'bashing' of any group of members who use the site be deleted.
Lounge,
* Proper swinging topics
Swingers Chat,
* Maybe the dross and banter in here
Support and Advice
* Questions and information
Of course it just my view, but... |

If mods removed what you call "chat" type posts, there may not be much left.
It isn't against rules to chat so mods won't delete them anyway.
Wouldn't it make the forums dull if we all liked the same things?
Any "bashing" threads do get removed if they get out of hand, if they stay to a discussion without insults, they stay, as that is what forums are for.
In answer to the OP ,many a time I have logged in to find a new thread which has been very busy and sat and read through it laughing my head off and the time flies reading them.
Other times I have got bored a third of the way down and felt like I was scratching my finger nails on a blackboard, so yeah, I tend to fall asleep on those ones |

The type of threads which you mention are usually easily recognised by the by the 1st couple of posts,, so would the best course of action not be to ignore them, thus no need to read it all, and move onto a post that may be of interest ?
I guess by the very virtue of the fact that the 'I love you' type of posts appear, and that they are long there is a suggestion that they are popular with some people, so I cannot see any valid reason to do anything about them |

of course they are popular, by the people who write them, tut.
I have just clicked that you are a mod (I think). I'm sure you have your brief as to what is good or bad, relevant or irrelevant. I'm sure your doing a good job as far as it goes. Do you ever feel the urge to up the game a little, make it a bit more tidy, organised ? |

I just reckon that after 80 or 90 posts everything that should be said probably has been said. |

The swingers chat is in the "swinging" section.
The chit chat is in the "lounge".
The advice and questions to do with the site are in the feedback or site section.
The only thing different you are suggesting is to swop the first two sections round.... and I am a bit puzzled as to why you want them swopped. |

If we find a thread that interests us,we usualy skim through it first and bye pass the ping-pong posts between two or three people (which are usualy off thread)and continue reading when it gets back on track.
That cuts the time down no end.

I'm afraid you've 'clicked' incorrectly. I am a mod, but not a forum mod, so I cannot comment on what 'briefs' that the formum mods may or may not have, however I am sure that one brief they might have is not to chop threads if they don't break the rules .. and so far as I can make out, none of the type of posts to which you refer, explicitly break the rules.
The fact that some people simply don't like them doesn't make them against the rules ... |
