Greetings from the Charnel House.
Something has died, and is quietly decomposing under the floor of my dining room.
Nothing that I've put down there, all my experiments are carefully secreted in the woods at the bottom of the garden.
Cadaverine, putrescine, skatole, indole, and a whole spectrum of sulphur containing compounds have necessitated puchase of Neutradol gel and permanent opening of the ground floor windows until the decomposition process completes. |

Even in this weather.
I thought that it may have been a dead pigeon in the dining room chimney, but that's clear.
No sign of trout or Limburger; the odour is coming up from under the floor as evidenced by the increase in the aroma in the vicinity of the mains water cut-off tap.

The previous owner was an elderly man; I got the property at less than the market rate as he told me that his wife had left him, he wanted to consolidate his money and go and enjoy himself in the Caribean.
No, brain function seems satisfactory, and I would expect a mouse to rot/desiccate pretty quickly.
