I have a male friend who has autism. He has been coming to visit me a few times. Last week i coudnt get in contact with him as hes phone was going to voicemail. Eventually when i did get in contact with him he told me he had no messages. Promising to top hes phone up and be in touch in a few days. It didnt happen. He a very shy quiet man and am worried as i havent been able to speak to him in ten days.i dont know hes address but know he lives in a village two bus rides away. Any advice would be welcome thanks |

if he is receiving some form of support from adult social care you can contact them and raise your concerns. if they can't help- police and ask for a welfare check as he might be classed as a vulnerable adult. |

Yes report to the police, he's a vulnerable adult and they should be happy to put your mind at rest. He probably has no idea you are so worried about him. |

My friend and me went to the village today where my autistic male friend lives. I asked in local shops. A lady told me she had seen him in the shop. I have left a letter for him in the post office with hes name on. Am hopeing they can help me. we now know the street he lives in but not the number. Could postmen/women locate the exact house. Am wondering. |

Depends if its a regular postie. They might. I'm not sure if Royal Mail can deliver mail that is not properly stamped/been through their mail system though?
Please don't take this the wrong way, but what makes you think that your friend just doesn't want to see/speak to you and just wants to be left alone? He may be autistic, but there are different scales of autism.
I'd say that you've done what you can for now. If you have serious concerns about his wellbeing then do as the other posters have said, but if not then just leave be.

How close a friend are you? How come you don't know where your friend lives? Maybe he just wants to be left alone or maybe he doesn't want you as a friend. If he's going about his business as usual, shopping etc then he's probably perfectly fine. Maybe the local autism initiative will know him and could put your mind at ease, or social services. |
