Did you know that while using a hand free is perfectly legal but if you have an accident using a hands free it's illegal and you will be charged.
Only just learned this on a work driving course. |

The sign highlights to the emergency services to look for an infant at the accident scene. |

My phone will be on hands free and I will only answer it if my kids call, everyone else gets tipped bollox..
However I do despise the whole being always available lifestyle we have where we expect answers instantly..
There was something to be said about the pre email and mobile phone days where it would take a week or four to get an answer by post..the pace of life was less fraught.. |

No call is that important that I would consider answering whilst driving.
On the odd occasion where are needed to talk to someone while I was driving (on our way to a funeral, someone didn't have a sat nav and got lost for instance), I pull over and ring or answer.
I usually have a passenger with me who could take a call, if needed. |

The answer to the OP's question is this:
A few years ago, an experiment was conducted. A group of girls were given mobile phones and asked to use them whilst walking down Oxford Street in London. At the end of the street they would be asked a number of questions about what they saw along the walk.
The street was crowded but our intrepid group walked the whole length of Oxford Street chatting on the phones. At the same time brightly coloured clowns were doing juggling acts walking a few yards ahead of them. At the end of the walk the girls were asked if there was anything unusual or interesting along the route. None of them saw anything unusual and when the clowns were mentioned they stated that they hadn't seen them.
Moral of the story........
When you are driving and talking on the phone, well, you know the rest.
It really can be lethal and users are risking a heavy penalty. |

I don't answer phone calls when I'm driving so it goes in my camera bag which lives in the boot of the car. If anybody needs me that urgently, they'll ring Mrs N |

If my wife is in the car with me , I don't use my phone at all as she is generally sucking my cock and i am usually smoking too . What with that going on and trying to do the crossword in the paper aswell I cant see how using my phone too would possibly hapoen .

Anyone thinking of using their mobile phone while driving should ask themselves one question. When you've killed someone with your selfish actions, are you going to have the balls to face the poor innocent victims parents, siblings, children and say, "Oh I'm so sorry for your loss I didn't mean for it to happen, I'm sorry for ripping your heart out for the rest of time but I just really had to take that call. You see the person on the other end of the phone really needed to know whether I wanted chips or mash with my tea and it just couldn't wait. Soz about that."
If you haven't got the brain power to realise how dangerous it is to drive and use your phone at the same time, then I'd have to question how you manage get through day to day living. How some people can be so selfish and dumb pretty much sums up a lot of what is wrong with modern day society. It's all too much me me me and fuck everybody else! If you really need to take that call or send that text then pull over and take it. It's not too difficult to understand.
I've seen the person I loved more than anything in the whole world lying dead in a hospital bed as a result of a road traffic accident (albeit not connected to mobile phones in any way). I know what it's like to have your heart torn away. Believe me, you would not wish that on anyone. And remember it's not just others you put at risk through your actions but yourself too. Would you want your own family to have to come and visit you in the morgue simply because you just had to read a text?

Yer I use my mobile while driving even though there is a possibility I could kill someone ?
Truth is...
People will be more careful now when if they use their mobiles while driving as they will get 6 points and a larger fine etc and not because they could kill someone?
I haven't read all the posts but I assume no ones admitted that they drive while using their mobiles and will carry on doing so regardless of the fact its illegal and they could kill someone or people?

I worked for a company that tried to discerplin me for not answering my phone to them whilst i was driving.
My very nice solicitor took the time to pay them a visit and exsplain to them the legalaties and possable criminal charges that could be involved should they wish to try and force myself and collegues to break the law.
It was a lovly day to watch certain people squirm as she started taking names and details for her report that the would be forwarding to the police. Lol
Suddenly there was no discerplinary. And now have a far bettet job.

I have self activating ignition. It runs off the key fob in my pocket as soon as I get in Bluetooth is activated and any calls are go straight through that.
The only thing I don't do is text.
After that dickhead Lorry driver who killed that family on the A34 a couple of months ago, anybody who does it is a fucking idiot.
The amount of holdups I get because lanes are closed because some tool has back ended someone texting on their phone. |

My sat nav won't let me program it while the vehicle is moving, the touch screen won't respond until the car is fully stopped.
And yeah, if you're caught doing it, besides the potential to fucking kill someone, you can get points on your licence, it falls under the "driving with undue care and attention" bracket.
Just as a side note:
Those of you who's sat nav prompts you top "agree to the terms and conditions" before programming it, if you "agree" to those terms, you are legally bound if you crash, because if you look actually read the terms, invariably, one of those terms will be to NOT use it while driving.
If you do us it while driving you're bang to rights in a court of law.
Your cars "black box" will record that the vehicle was moving whilst you were programming it at the point of collision.
