So.....today I asked the lady in my local shop for Crème fraîche, she gave me Fem fresh instead

My mum once went into a shop and said "do you sell fem fresh? It's for a curry"

She got mixed up between fromage frais and creme fraiche!

My Mother, some 50+ years ago, having just moved with the family from Scotland to South London, went into a local Butcher's and asked for a 1lb of Mince.

The Butcher sent her next door to the newsagents! He didn't understand her accent and thought she'd asked for Mints!
