Who has ever lost interest in wanting to go to a town or city due to certain memories?
I for one have lost interest in going to Blackpool and doubt if I'll ever go there again. The reason is because I have memories that are still sort of raw on my mind as I spent most of my time there with someone who used to be my best friend who I have not spoken to since Christmas. |

I had my first meet with a lady from Blackpool who ran a B&B in '93. Me and an ex bought a copy of Rendezvous and 2 months later we spent a long weekend up there
Been on a few stag nights up there as well |

London. Too busy for me.
My one memory is walking down Oxford Street on a Saturday and it felt like the rest of the World was walking towards me!!
And yet, strangely, i love New York and felt at home there , |

I won't ever go to one particular seaside town in the UK ever again because it holds bad memories for me. My mum died whilst on holiday there with me and my children. As you can imagine it was horrific, the sudden heart attack, the paramedics fighting to save her life, the police, seemingly the whole caravan site gawping, the pitying looks from the Haven holiday staff, being on my own waiting for hubby to get there as I'd gone with just my mum and kids. Not being allowed to leave for nearly two days whilst the police spoke to me and the postmortem carried out, and the absolute worst of explaining to the kids what happened, my youngest was 3, still wanting to go and see Rory the tiger.
Luckily its a place I can avoid, not like a large city where you may need to go for work or an aiport etc.
Oo sorry for the long post, seems I'm still quite anxious about it even though it was 16 years ago.

No. Pretty silly and limiting thing to do really.
I had a friend who used to say ..... Oh we can't go there... I used to go there with him.....
I'd say here then ......
She'd say .... Oh we stayed there in a caravan.....
In the end I left her to enjoy her wallowing ....
If you wallow you won't move on.
Soon there'll be nowhere left to go.
Besides...... the mind can evoke memories without being in a certain place.
It's just self punishment. |

"Not unheard of op. I've a friend who won't visit Nottingham because of their ex. "
When I split up with my ex, I had to go past his house, twice a day everyday as it was on my bus route, on the way to work. That was horrendous! |
