THANK YOU!
Licketysplits came into being five years ago today during a particularly difficult time in my life. I had a few friends from my previous profile I was communicating with but I wasn't meeting. I found the fora and after the usual 'everyone hates me' initial period I was settled into the Lounge.
It is not an exaggeration to state that the Fab Fora saved me (particularly the Lounge - the other places were a little scarier).
Some of your are still around, others are on Fab but no longer frequent the fora out of choice (or otherwise) and many have left. I may not remember all the names (because so many of you keep bloody changing them) but I do remember how you have affected me and your avatars.
I'm opening this thread as a chance for people to say something positive. The rant thread is there for all the other complaints.

Glad fab has helped you darling, it is currently helping me through some troubles, even though I have not meet many of the people who have got in touch it is so heart warming that they took the time to say 'hope your ok, am thinking about you'
So THANK YOU from me as well xxx |

Lickety, I've not been on here long and we didn't get to chat much during the last Tea Party, but I love reading your posts, I love hearing your stories and I'm looking forward to chatting more in a couple of weeks.
Unless I drink too much wine and lose my ability to string a sentence together, which could happen. |

I hadn't met any of the people who helped me when they were being helpful. It's a lovely thing to know it happens and I hope people pay it forward when they benefit from it.
I hope you're OK.

It feels like much longer to me too but the markers of that first year are historic: London 2012, the Queen's Jubilee and Witney Houston's death (the last is sort of why I am here). The Jubilee and London 2012 Opening Ceremony threads remain among my favourites. |

I've been here roughly the same time as you - 5 years in April.
I dip my toe in here now an again.
Enjoyed/enjoying the time on here.
Made a few friends that I can call on for some fun (and visa versa).
Hope to make a few more over time.
All good here. |

"Happy 5th birthday OP. Didn't realise you'd only been here a few months when I first met you. You're lovely.
"
Different name, different avatar - I stand no chance. My brain has been working overtime as it is trying to work out the posting style.

I was on Fab from September 2010 as part of a couple (the profile was started earlier by the ex but he told me about it in the September) but I didn't know about the fora until just before Lickety came into being and didn't post. I think we met at Kestrels before Lickety. |

I've finished the Aloe Vera so it's water now. Thanks; there are many who think I'm not that sensible or reasonable on here. |

Ah I see 2011 probably I joined here found out about K and went to have a look. Looking back they must have so laughed at me swimming up and down whilst they all fornicated around me.
How naive I was,goodness me. |

I don't remember anyone laughing at you. Lots of men go there and only swim up and down so why not you? |

So good to see this. I like the forums too they're mostly great fun, but sometimes there's unpleasantness for no good reason. It did scare me at first! Glad you're enjoying yourself too . |

I'm sure there are reasons for the unpleasantness; we're not always privy to the reasons and maybe the unpleasant don't even know the reason.
Keep enjoying yourself.

Hi Lickety,
Nice post, I'm an infrequent forum visitor these days, when I joined some 4 years ago, I remember you as a warm, decent and sensible poster. You also made me feel welcome.
Fairly sure you won't remember me but 'good on you' |

Thank you. I'm feeling a bit of a fraud as the idea was that people would post their positive stories. I'll be gracious about the ego massage though. |

Ewww, no! You may be a married man, and therefore safer (according to the sti thread) but you've got the lurgy. Plus, haven't you read the threads about married men? I'll be stoned on the forum.

"THANK YOU!
