from what i can remember from the article its because that type of underwear experiences most movement in the private regions and is prone to cross infections. the cotton thongs are advised over the satin type ones as it reduces movement.
came up bizzarly in an incontinence lecture i had at work too. As long as personal hygiene is A1 and undies are changed think its alright though |
