Isn't it kind of frowned against by admin? Like using the forums to get round filters or a block?

That's happened to me a few times. Logically I understand it's entirely due to my filters and not intended to be so but my gut reaction is always 'ew, that's creepy'.

I've seen it a couple of times when guys have named our couples profile in their status asking us to message them, they're outside the preferences so don't know why they think this would work

Two people have used their status to get my attention this week, it was a bit cringe but at least it highlighted my profile to all the other fabbers in the area
