I don't understand this whole kisses on the end of a text message malarkey.
I once had a playmate get really angry with me because he always put a kiss on every message and I never did and he thought it showed a lack of affection.
I just don't understand the need for it. Maybe on agood morning or good night message but that's pretty much the only time I even think of it.
I find it slightly humorous in some ways because if I was having a conversation with somebody I wouldn't kiss them at the end of each sentence, I think that would make a great stand-up comedy clip!
Anyway if there's some ettiquette memo that I am missing from my life about how this kiss this thing works please?

I know someone who complains if there is only one x on the end of a message. Min is 2. Applying one means your in a bit of a mood with the other person..... and none..... lol |

We will respond with kisses if kisses are given but otherwise we don't think about it or notice their absence.
I recently found out that ending a text message with a period is bad form too? It makes me wonder what other modern faux pas we're committing. |

"If I put kisses on the message then I am actually telling the recipient that kisses are intended to be happening. Not just being endearing "
You might want to book a month off to deliver those then |

Just goes to show what an aberration Text Speak has become since its invention and the damage inflicted on the use of The English Language. Yes, I'm a dinosaur, but text speak is sheer laziness and destroying communication! |

If it doesn't evolve it dies, text talk is the future. |

Wholeheartedly agree. Nothing better than a good, solid message with correct punctuation, spelling and grammar.
Also nuthin worse than wen ppl use txt speak. |

the telegram?
wysiwyg
telegram style, the precursor to text speak. the English lanquige will survive. text speak sms style is not in common toung so as to say. some will end up in the dic' most of it had died out with the current generation of kids, and my generation who grew up with it belive it is better to write a concise message that people can read. aka (another telegram shorthand) we have grown up and not teens anymore. |

I use them to either convey affection towards someone I like - but not in *that* way - or, to imply to someone that yes, I would actually like to kiss them for real. Quite how you're supposed to differentiate between the two though is anyone's guess - though I do tend to use more than one if I fancy a snog.
*No* kisses on the other hand can be just as much a minefield. They usually mean 'no way ever and I don't even like you very much' but can also mean I like them a lot but am too scared to hint how I feel.
It sounds ridiculous and I'm probably overthinking way too much but I do fret about the impression I might give by using (or not) kisses given the variety of 'rules' other people seem to abide by. Aaaarrggghhh. |

What I learnt from them is.. 2 kisses means she really likes you and 1 kiss means she likes you but not like that
And if you go from 2 kisses to 1 kiss you've fucked up somewhere |

Should we all talk like we're in a Shakespeare play then.
It's not the text speak that annoys me, it is that annoying psuedo London accent that everyone talks with these days, you get me bruv? |

My serious opinion on it, I don't personally do it and never have, but I think those who do it, might POSSIBLY be reading more into the deal than actually exists.

I put one at the end of every message. For me it has basically just replaced the final full stop.
I don't mean anything by it, and certainly won't be offended or upset if I don't recieve one back.
Its now just a habit that I've got into
