Its not so great

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Just a little something to show that being young(ish) isn't that great and to make those that wish they were more more youthful a little better.

So I'm approaching 25 and I'm a single graduate. Ahh the world is your oyster you must be thinking. Well, guess again.

I get the when am I going to be a grandma talk from my mum on a daily basis, I'm working on the minimum wage because the post 16 propaganda about uni being the best option was a complete lie. I'm either under qualified, over qualified or not confident enough to get a graduate job in education.

I don't want kids but I'm starting to think shit, my body clock is against me, mainly due to the aforementioned pressure that my mother is putting on me.

I've started becoming paranoid about facial hair and have burnt the inside of my lip with a hair removal cream. Don't ask how, I've no idea how it happened.

Its harder than ever to lose weight no that but oh so easy to put it on.

Its becoming frowned upon to go to night clubs and when I do its full of 'kids' anyway. I'm starting to question the length of my skirt when I do go out.

16 year olds can do their make up way better than I can do mine and my hair is starting to feel less voluminous.

The list is ever growing can anyone else add to the list?

PS this is not a rant or feel sorry for me thread. Its just a bit of fun but it is all true even the lip burn bit

Oh, I'm 27 and I sometimes feel like I should be looking to settle down and have a kid or two... then I remember how free and easy my life is without kids and a partner.

Hair removal cream hurts

Do what you want when you feel ready

I wouldn't mind some babies soon (please no offers of breeding )

As for work...you are still young. I'm not doing what I want to be yet, I still don't know what that is.

I'm 41 and have had the 'grandma' bullshit since my twenties. We still get it from the mother in law too.

They're all told when we want to, not when you want it to be.

You do what you want for you, not for anybody else.

someone with the skill and mind to write this can and will achieve everything they wish to achieve.

just had to say that right onto the topic at hand .

I'm starting to go very grey down the sides .

I've taken to not looking in the mirror unless a have to because thanks to the greying hair I'm starting to look like my granddad

i noticed a couple of grey hairs on my chest this made me take a look hard look around the old wedding tackle and yes you guess it there's a few down there two

now I'm thinking when ever a pretty young thing smiles at me she's doing it because I remind her of her granddad

this has lead me to thinking about buying a sports car of all things

and yes if I get one I'm defiantly going the whole hog. twenty something eye candy watch out there soon will be a new silver fox in the hen pen

visiting the beach

51 in a few weeks time.

Apart from a few minor physical things (grey hair, wrinkles, belly), I am fit, healthy and happier than I can every remember being.

I have a well paid, but very undemanding job. A nice house near the beach (all to myself). I am still friendly with my (separated) wife, and get on well with my kids.

I get to look after my granddaughter every once in a while (enough to enjoy, without it becoming a pain).

I have a great social life, and can pretty much do what I want when I want without giving it much concideration.

I would not swap with a twenty something for all the tea in china thank you very much...

Trust me OP there are those who have similar worries even famous people with cosmetic surgeons on tap lol.

Im sure your a beautiful person worrying needlessly. As soon as you can get naked take a good look in the mirror and ONLY focus on what you like about you, and then masturbate til you orgasm (apparently cumming is when we feel our sexiest) a bit late in the new year but resolute that you'll not worry about finding the guy who pisses you off the least and you'll have his baby because stressing about finding him is a block sort of more haste less speed xx

I'm 26 this year and totally get you OP.

I sometimes feel a lot of pressure to do this or do that!

When it comes to having children I 100% want them but feel under pressure sometimes to hurry up! I know people my age and who I went to school with who have had 3 children by now

Life can be a real struggle at times but having said that, it was only earlier on I was thinking how I wouldn't want to be a teenager now. I almost feel sorry for them!

try being 51

actually it's not so bad..

I've recently lost over a stone in weight and look fantastic (even if I say so myself)

if anything sprouts on my face it gets waxed off PDQ

I will be a graduate next year ...I didn't believe the hype about University when I left school so walked straight into a job and had a life and a laugh...

kids? I wasn't that keen on settling down and having any either, and definitely not at 25!! I was far too busy enjoying myself and being selfish

I have one now though, and he means the world to me and it also means it will be a good 10 years before I become a granny too

I feel for you, but in your mid twenties you're still a baby. Don't fret about what anyone else thinks or the pressure you may feel put upon you. It's more important to be who you are and not what other people expect you to be. If you can accept your growing years and the changes that brings you'll be happier in your own skin. You're a great person and things will get better, i can guarantee that.

I'm always tired and doing the simplest tasks knackers me out.

It's all good though, I'm just getting my old age shit done while I'm young enough to handle it.. I'll be climbing mountains and bouncing around trampoline parks in my 70s
