Feel good about themselves, costs nothing and goes such a long way, it's great when you do something thoughtful to help others actually brings positive vibes into your own life too. Something as simple as just listening to someone can make a huge difference, what thoughtful thing have you done to help another recently or in the past that's helped them and also made you feel good about yourself.

Couldn't agree more! I live by the motto of "it's nice to be nice" even when other people are arseholes

I'm always happy to help people, just recently I took on some extra work that one of my colleagues was struggling with because I knew I could do it super quick. It was quick and easy for me and she really appreciated it.

Totally agree,I always say "be kind to people, you never know what they have going on in their lives".

When I was on a nightshift last week,I got a heartfelt thank you and I was just doing my job,but felt good to know I'd made a difference.

I was in a taxi before posting this and instead of asking the usual questions people ask like when did they start when do they finish, I simply asked him how he was and what he did before taxis he said strangely enough he just started the taxis a few weeks back after being off on the sick for over a year due to accident he had whilst he was a gas engineer, he talked about how he'd lost his house and struggled to cope with flashbacks from the accident suffering from insomnia and a condition that soldiers get can't remember what it was called, all I did was listen, after he finished talking I told him he was doing good to get back into work and keeping himself busy instead of sitting at home also told him to keep his chin up and things will get better, this cheered him up. It's always good to remember everyone has a struggle.

I'm a empath, always have been, and always will, putting others before myself,is second nature to me, it can be draining sometimes, but that's my nature, and doubt it will change anytime soon.

I've always wanted to do a counselling degree, but never got round to it. My whole career life has been about listening, and helping where I can. Also in my private life, I find I do the same!!!!!!! (Sounding a bit big headed here, but I'm not lol)

I used to have an ex like that always put everything and everyone before me and her loved that quality in her at first but then it drove me nuts to the extents she would go. Sometimes you have to put yourself and your significant other first.

I try but lately I've had a really bad feeling about it. It's hard to shake it off.

I'm the same, I spend a lot of time in my work doing things to help people. I'm not too good at accepting help myself. But I do try to make time for my family and mr.

I have been today to a charity event for Syria organised by Syria charity, I left my heart there.

They showed us a video of the ground work volunteers do over there, they are the real HEROES.

One man lost his leg when trying to save a child who was buried under the piece of his destroyed house... it was heartbreaking to see those images yet at the same time it gives me hope to see that there are some decent MEN when most would have ran away.

Done allsorts of things in a voluntary role...from just giving a moral boost to literally saving a couple of lives! So rewarding but politics and folks so full of their own self importance that actually made it impossible to carry on and ill health eventually made us stop..

I manage to do that too, lol....my partner works long hours, and I might not see him for days, but when he's here, he gets my full love and attention, perfect relationship for me, as I hate the living in each others pockets type relationship's. Also gives me time to myself, and my job.
