That's a long time for giving up anything worthwhile...

I might try giving up listening to my boss, and he might give up employing me...it could well be time for a change

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

BHF is running DeChox in March so I might link this to Lent.

I may make celibacy a real choice instead of the default it has become.

No I wont. I've never been a practising Christian.

I admire people who genuinely use it as a time for reflection, fasting and giving though.

not religious here but the eldest child is and just something me and the kids have done each year - we have done random silly stuff too like no odd socks (kid was useless at pairing up )

I think its useful to have a point in the year when you reassess .

A Muslim friend of mine doesn't really practice the faith but he tries to keep Ramadan for the same reason

I'm not practicing a faith but I'm using Lent as a time to give up bread. I like the challenge aspect, mind over matter.

I think there is a reason every religion has an annual fast/re-evaluation period. People have taken it into secular life in different ways.

chingford

I give a pound a day to CAFOD.

A bit of a cop out I know but I'm shit at depriving myself of things I enjoy.

We're practising Catholics so along with my kids I always give up chocolate and sweet treats. It's very rewarding
