Bradford

Let's all work for the Government, public bodies and authorities.

Full employment, a job for everyone includng all the disabled; no freeloading doleys.

Good, guaranteed pensions for all, index linked.

37 hour contract, extra pay AND days off in lieu for any additional work.

upto 42 days paid holiday a year. ( excluding golf playing teachers of course )

Very few dismissals, at worst being paid off and back into public work immediately. Cool.

Anyone see a flaw?

Just working on my perpetual motion machine, i may be a while.

Don't you bank on it. Many of 'em are in training, at nursery, linking into the national curriculum. Grab 'em whilst they're young. Ooooh heck, am i allowed to say that?

Look on the bright side.

When we all work for the Government, there will be no Daily Mail.

Win all round me thinks.

Communism!

Grrrr!

I think Natural Selection (aka: Death) is the fundamental reason evolution works for a damn good reason. Ditto for economics/politics.

all over the place

now now mushy jealousy is not becoming you know ,instead of slagging the public service workers we should be glad they have held there ground for so long against the erosion of conditions in the private sector.

Instead of helping disolve the conditions actually get them transferred across the workforce to the private sector.

I am sick of my fellow countrymen and women being treated like surfs and being the easiest workforce in europe to sack,or used by corporations to maximise profits at a whim by sacking em and making the ones left work even harder, Lying about takeovers and treating our parliament with utter contempt, and dont even get me started on the euro gravy train grrrrrrr

Nothing to do with jealousy at all.

Simply realism. The country as a whole simply cannot afford the status quo.

Pensions aside, how long can the country continue running a massive deficit of well over £100bn a year ( even after coalition plans)?

No ... I work on average 51. I have no flexibility on holidays ... I don't get paid overtime and I do not get days off in lieu and I pay 7% of may wages for this 'free' pension. I don't get 42 days payed holiday either. Apart from that the OP is 100% accurate
