I need to sound off! Everyone is sleeping and I've just got home from the most unreal day of my life I'm sat here crying my heart out and laughing at the same time.
My mum had a TIA this morning, I knew she wasn't right so asked a few questions it's clear she had no idea what was going on.
She got taken to our local A&E after a couple of hours she was sent home to contact her gp asap for a neurologist review within a week.
She got in went to bed but was very un rouseable and tired said she had a cracking headache.
I called the gp as advised. They called back I told them my concerns and they told me a ambulance wait could be hours to take her to the bigger hospital 45 mins away.
As we got there she became quite vacant again I told reception who didn't seem that fussed. 30 mins went by and she asked me where she was!.
I told them again and they got a dr and she
Was taken to resus everything then went a bit crazy....she has no recollection at all but I do.
She was given loads of meds a scan and started to be like mum again. As she came round she clocked me looking at a watch I've wanted but can't justify and commented laughing 'bloody looking at that watch again lady' the dr and nurses all laughed the dr then said Mrs xxxx I think your daughter deserves a treat if it hadn't been for her persistence today and getting you to us so quickly, you may not have seen her smiling face again or her looking at that watch.
He then said to me well done you have saved your mothers life today.
Wtf.......I've never been so scared as I am right now. I'm snuggled up on her bed so I can smell her sleep spray so I feel close to her and I want that one person who meant so much to me here to give me a hug and he's not.
Rant over thanks for reading x

"Is this actually real?? I've seen something on Facebook along these lines... Cautious approval given to your post tho "
Yes it is actually real my mum had two TIAs yesterday one in the morning and again in the evening.
I'm lucky being a medical background and having a friend who's a stroke consultant I knew what was going on.
And I'm really lucky my mum didn't have a worse fate. Having been on the stroke ward most of the day weather you believe me or not it really doesn't matter what matters is my mum is going to be ok. |
