Hi all.
Some of you may know that I suffer with severe depression, and as part of my way of dealing with this and understanding my self and my condition, I started a blog back in January where I discuss various aspects of my life and how depression has impacted on that. My aim is for it to help me and also encourage others with depression or other mental illness to get help and also where to find it. It's live but only so I can add content and get it crawled by search engines, I haven't really done much promo apart from on Twitter.
What I am looking for is for those would like to help to share the site on whatever social media platform you wish, and also if you are interested maybe even writing a guest post about your own experiences either as a sufferer or as someone living with someone with depression.
In my many years swinging and on Fab, I have met lots of people that also suffer, and as a community I know it is full of people that are extremely caring and giving, so that is why I am asking here. The blog itself is anonymous, a decision I made when I started because I don't want anyone to be upsets if their actions are referenced in my posts, especially those local to me. It's not because I am ashamed, it is to protect the privacy of those that may not have had the impact on my life they wanted.
Anyway, I don't think it's right to put the name of the blog on here, but if you are interested in helping in some way, please, drop me a private message. There is no ulterior motive for this, it's just that when the stats show 1:4 are affected by it, I want to do my bit.
Thank you and I hope I hear from you. |

Great idea. Talking openly about depression helps other people that suffer and sometimes helps bring them out of their shell.
I'm always open about my depression and keep wondering about starting a blog about that and it mixed with my work. X |

To quote Florence Welch "the dog days are over"
Everyone's journey is different, for some it's too tough, but for those who struggle through and see the light at the end of the tunnel it's overwhelming how many people around you are going through what you went through but feel so isolated they can't share their thoughts. Well done on the blog!!!! One day you'll see the wood through the trees x

Thank you guys. As I say, I don't want to put the name up here, but if people think it's okay to I will, I guess some may not want to admit they need help.
Superflash, I think some people use sex as a crutch for depression, as it's an excellent ego boost, but can often be used to mask the real problems in their lives. I know what is what I have done in the past. And yes, if you get a lot of knock backs it can do a lot of harm as every rejection can reinforce the negative images you have about yourself. |

You only get the one life ... You can live it negatively... Or positively... The choice is yours ... I thank God that I am here for another great day living under the warm bright sun enjoying the world and all its possibilities |

I've started this as a way to explore and understand my condition more, if you think it will help, do it. |

Sadly not everyone has the choice, they are dibilitated by their illness, but with work it is possible. |

He is a close friend of mine, I have read it and found many things helpful for those needing it. There is so much stigma out there and not enough help with all the cut backs.
It's worth a look at least. Wish you well xxx |
